From past experience I know some of you enjoy growing outside the realm of
only cannabis, so here's some Dragon Fruit porn. Four years of tending to my
balcony grow finally paid off with some exceptional fruit. One of my favorite after
dinner desserts. For those of you who couldn't care less, here's a bud from my
outdoor Lemon Haze auto grow. Greasy little monster.

    Fine looking dope.
We had dragon fruit growing at a place. Huge, fast, 24-hour flour. Cool to watch the fruit develop. If you can imagine how big my fist is, ours grew about twice that size.

I started 2 different plants from 3 inch cuttings gifted to me from a a gal that used to work for me. The first year they grew to over 6 feet. Now 3 years later they are ridiculous Medusa monsters that I have suspended across a 6 foot ladder on 2 poles. My neighbors call it the sea serpent. After harvest this year I have to give it a major haircut because it has begun to grow into my siding and light fixture above my balcony. The flowers are really spectacular and it's a shame they only last a day.

Funny you posted this when you did. Coincidence funny. Not punchline funny.
A few nights ago, I watched a show on PBS about some folks in Escondido growing a crazy number plants and varieties on something like half an acre. Ugly as hell until that one night of flower and you see the colors inside the fruit.

What grow zone are you in? I'm in 7b. I love dragon fruit. Yellow are the best in my opinion. Sounds like my kiwi vines. They are a nightmare to maintain but the reward is worth it.

Southern California near the coast. Going2fast. I agree about the yellow. I have one growing now but it was started a year later than the red so I'm hoping for fruit next season.

DF are a dry and sun loving cactus. Mine grew in amended native San Diego sandstone.
Funny, again. Since growing marijuana in a tent in my apartment with artificial lighting, nutrients, and something that is not soil, I have come to believe you can grow just about anything just about anywhere.

Mine does not do well in full sun. It gets bleached yellow with a lot direct light. I used a lot of gravel, sand, and compost in the containers for good drainage. They love chicken shit and I top cover them with about 2 inches each spring. Both my containers have a thriving worm colony living there.

Wish I could see a picture. I recall yellow just being one of the colors the fruit goes through and light yellow cactus. The youngest fruit was almost white then went light yellow, green, and finally what you're showing.
