    Silica Additive

Hi growers, i just wanted to ask everyone about using Liquid Silica as an additional thing to help in the strong growth of the "Girls"?
Does anyone have an option or actual better results or just a waste of time & money? Thank you all very much!!

Just my experience here, I tried it in my DWC system once, and I won't be doing it again.
My plants had an adverse reaction to it and got very sick. I only tried it because the guy in the local grow shop was raving about how great it was, and he said feedback from his customers was that "this stuff is amazing", "made a huge difference," blah, blah, blah. The bottle I bought was about 300ml and cost $90
I might get a hammering from some peeps on here for this, but here goes . My opinion on a lot of the additives for bigger yields, etc., is that they are a lot of the time, all about $$$$$$. Not only that, I feel the more different products added just adds to the complexity of having to mess around adjusting pH and EC levels and so on.
Over the years, I've tried a lot of different products and have found little, to no difference at all, compared to using just a base nutrient with the top booster PK in flowering.

Its important to add it to your mix first and let it mix in your res for a while or it will lock out the other nutrients

When using Silica Blast, always add Silica Blast into your reservoir FIRST followed by Cal-Mag

Silica will help ‘harden’ your stems. I use it but still end up supporting the tops by the end.

Updating this….i use Silica in flower but not during veg because the stems get too hard and want to break during training

Remember guys and gals, the cannabis industry is "commercial for profit". The goal is selling you more of something. You can easily overbuy (or be oversold) on supplements. I prefer simple and inexpensive.

That said, I use GH trio and CalMag growing in 50/50 coco/perlite. I simply tie up heavy buds for support as needed vs buying silica supplements. Now, I do have two sativas for first ever outside in ground grow - 5' and 6'
tall after six weeks in ground. I mixed in a bunch of sand (silica dioxide) when doing soil prep as a silica supplement. I did buy kelp meal (needed for super hot, dry desert summer grow) and mychorrizae for the roots, but nothing fancier. They are also in big, old tomato cages I made from a roll of 6" concrete reinforcing screen for additional support.

I will normally do 6 - 12 greenhouse plants (AZ state legal limit) full of so much good bud that I don't need to spend extra $$$ for a little extra yield.

I use Epsom salt on my pepper plants and such. From memory, I thought it added silica and magnesium? I was told it helps strengthen cell walls. Does this thought cross to our girls?
