Original Skunk 1 x Lemon Gelato pollen chucking

Phase 2 of pollen chucking/creating my own cross.
This round I hunted lots of Original Skunk 1 seeds found a male that had a short tight structure and acrid nose to it. Used it to pollinate the same lemon cultivar I recently reversed to a different cultivar. Now the seeds from the skunk x lemon seeds have matured and aged. And have successfully germinated. Figured I would post as I hunt 6 seeds to see what the outcross brings. If it’s what I need then I’ll begin my hunt for the male to pollinate my selection of the feminized lemon x sugar cross Ive finished. Here’s photos of the journey to this point.

I use a 2x2x4 also. Just a hobbyist. Have done a few crosses using regular seeds. One reversal now. The reversal cross really exceeded my expectations. Just can’t really dive into feminized seeds. So the mission is to cross something I like with males and females to select from. Once I hit the right cross I will use a F1 male to pollinate my S1 selected females. Where I can spend a lot of time once making the F2 line. That’s where I want to hunt. Until then it’s just a thought in the works. Like you mentioned it’s fun. I still buy seeds but have a plant count so been about 2 years of just 3 strains.

I usually make my crosses with Reg's but I am crossing a Pineapple Express from Barneys and Crescendo from Ethos both fems. I am kind of hoping the Cresendo self pollintes as well as the PAE. I notice once a bud is pollenated the pistils al turn brown a little early. Do you notice that?

I have a bunch of crosses I plan to grow after I retire, seems like if I grow a strain several times I can learne the ins and outs of growing them

Yes, pistils change when it’s captured a pollen.

Yes the pistils turn brown shortly after pollination.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

              And here is #5.
Just courious when do you harvest seeds, I usually wait untill I see a couple fall off and then of course I always have a few volenteers in the mothers pot.

I try to wait until some start falling but by then the season is getting cold so they may get rushed. I believe 6-8 weeks is sufficient time to harvest seeds. I find that after the seeds are removed the bud is just as tasty as seedless, just less of it.
