Side lighting is it worth it?

Does anyone use side lighting? Are they worth it? I'm looking at spider farmer set of 4 bars 32 watts each..

AC Infinity and mars Hydro has a nice set too. Some cultivators here use them with good effect. My grows are small and covert so no need.

I pulled 2 autos out so I have a freed up light available. I plan to hang it low and give the photos some extra bottom lighting after reading of some gains by doing it. Hoping for the best, worried about too much light. Will just use on a dim setting.

Yes it's worth, dependent on medium, it but you should design your system to give the correct amount of DLI. Or you'll probably end up spending too much and have to dim.

If you want to keep it simple just add some under canopy lighting. I think about 20% of the top lighting is the sweet spot and you can just use cheap flood or spot lights....but water resistant of course.

Yields should be about 20% higher.

A cheaper way of increasing yields is to use coco and continually fertigate using drip irrigation...that should make a slightly bigger difference if you get it right.

You raise a point thats been on my mind about dimming. Is it better to have your light on max and adjust the ppfd by raising or lowering the height of the light or using dimmer and keeping light at around 21 inches? Ive got a se7000

This is my first grow using the Vivosun version 4 full spectrum 32w each. They are under a Mars-Hydro 300w in a 2 x 4. This is the beginning of week 5 of 12/12. I’m happy so far but won’t really get a good idea of whether or not they improved yields. What do you think
