I see in one of the picture there it is definitely a grasshopper, so that's probably making at least some of the damage, if not all of it.
I don't grow outdoor, but I asked my dad who is an outdoor grower. He said that the secret to getting rid of grasshoppers is to keep the grass mowed short (they live in the grass and also eat it) and to use "Sevin" insect spray. (https://www.amazon.com/Sevin-GardenT.../dp/B077L6SKJ5)
He said NEVER get Sevin on buds, but you can use it on vegetative plants. And he also said to make sure to let it dry before letting any pets near it. He said when he used it he found dead grasshoppers all over the place. It seems like strong stuff.
