    Long term storage advice sought

I am using 62% Boveda packs in quart jars and my medicine stays soft and on the moist side which is ok. I got my Northern Lights to last with medicinal effect for about 4 years then it dropped significantly. Most recent harvest is from 2023 again with the 62% Boveda sacks. Would the 58% be better for long term storage?

I always stick with 62% as a target. It’s easy to dry it a touch more before you consume it, but hard/impossible to properly rehydrate it if it’s too dry.
I've never had mold issues at 62, I have stuff from 4 yrs ago in my “weed cellar”
The difference between 62 and 58 is not a lot, I don’t think there will be any significant difference in quality between those over the long term.
Tempature for your long term storage is also important, cooler is better

For long term I stick with 63% in the jars...got a few showing up to 68% at the moment, but they are kept at under 60⁰F or 16⁰C, no issues.About 8 months or in the jars now. Most are around 62/63%
Still got a few that I jarred two years ago and no issues and they are closer to 58%. Smoke and effect hasn't really changed.

I don't use humidity packs. You don't need them at all if you dry and cure properly. Its easy to control the RH in the jar if you have cigar hygrometers in the jars to assist with the cure.

I don’t think there’s much difference between the 58 and 62 packs. It might be personal choice, 58 or 62. I stopped using them a couple of years ago just because they are not necessary. But a lot of people use them. I like to store my weed at 62%RH, in darkness and no more heat than room temps. I’ve not had any mold issues. When the hygrometer reads below 62 I spritz the lid of the jar. Raises the rh, easy peasy. I’ve got a little bit of flower that’s a few years old. I’ve not noticed a drop in the effects of the long term storage weed storing it this way.
