    Tincture made with everclear

Hi all! I’m new, just tried my hand at making a quick wash using everclear and i want to try consuming it as is- but I don’t want to drink everclear. I read to put a little under the tongue. So my question is- may I simmer it a little to cook off the alcohol without actually making RSO with it? Thanks so much!

Set it out and let it evaporate off, heating Everclear is explosive.

Better to mix it with a small amount of high fat food. My favorites- Nutella, bacon grease, peanut butter, coconut oil, cooked meat. Or try mixing in in your favorite liquor. Putting it directly under the tongue will burn. If you evaporate off all the ethanol it will form a sticky goo that does not dissolve well in water based liquids or saliva.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Thank you! But how do I get the alcohol off? I read that I can’t leave the tincture jar open (nor am I patient enough) so I was thinking I could do the double boil method where you use the tincture liquid to make RSO but I would only do it for a few minutes. This should keep the liquid but cook off the alcohol or am I missing the bigger pix? Sorry- this is so confusing for me!

For medical reasons I’m having a hard time smoking so I made edibles with my flower but how many PB cookies can one eat a day. Not a fan of chocolate so I read up on how to make gummies. This was interesting bc I could just drink the tincture but I don’t want to booze up.

I just tried my tincture for the first time and you were not kidding- my mouth is still made at me and I didn’t last more than 2 seconds! Lol But man everclear is strong!

I think you are partially missing the bigger pix. If u used everclear to make the tincture, you can remove some alcohol, but the remaining alcohol will still be the same concentration, just less of it. That is why it should be "diluted" with food. You can mix the tincture with something like coconut oil or butter then heat it to drive off the ethanol and the THC oil will dissolve in the butter oil . If you add juice or water to reduce the ethanol percent, you will reach a point where the THC oil will drop out of solution and create a cloudy liquid. Not that the cloudy is bad, it just means the THC oil is no longer soluble in the liquid. This is due to the change in polarity of the solution. The THC oil is non-polar (oil will dissolve in oil), water is polar (the oil will not dissolve in water). Ethanol is unique in that at high concentrations it is non-polar, at low concentrations with water, it is polar. Does that make sense? It is chemistry.

I don't think there is a limit on the number of PB cookies one can eat.

    Which Everclear?
If you are using the 190 proof, a few drops of that under the tongue is a bad experience. There is a reason it has warning labels not to drink it straight.

Everclear is most common here as 70% isopropyl alcohol & 30% water so what evaporates off is the iso and you're left with an RSO watery mess unless you heat it.

Iso is a bit more toxic than ethanol and not recommended to consume or absorb or enhale. It was used as an anaesthetic years ago, it's been used as a muscle relaxant (sniff it) by many, some enjoy intimacy with its effects, but it can fuck you up badly and it does kill you if you take too much but you need to take a lot.

Making butter is safer, easier and dirt cheap and cakes and biscuits nicer to consume. No where near as concentrated though.
