Hammmahtime418 Welcome aboard.
If you want to learn about growing weed you are in the right place. It doesn't matter if you're growing sativa's, indica's, or hybrids, fem/photo's or autos, or what kind of grow medium you will be using, or what you're grow space will consist of, someone on this forum will have guidance and offer some help. Oh, forgot about outdoors, there's some good guidance on here from experienced outdoor growers as well. If you've got outdoor experience consider adding your voice to the conversation.
When you say seedlings, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean the first couple of weeks of the plants life? I haven't used my HLG lights to do that. But I don't have any hesitation saying that it should be OK to do. I just use a t5 fixture in a small tent to get the seedlings to the sprout stage and then transplant to final home in the big tent. Set the dimmer at the lowest setting or what HLG recommends. For height above the plant, start at 24" or what HLG recommends, watch your plants and adjust up or down accordingly.
I grow with HLG lamps. I don't have the Tomahawk but do have a Scorpion and a 350R. Both have the same dimmer, a knob with 10 clicks or settings. The dimmer is set to the lowest setting for new plants and adjusted as they grow. Both are set at 24" above the plant in veg and 15" and 18" in flower. The 350R is a very intense light I use in a 24"x48"x95" tent. The dimmer doesn't go above 5 in flower. The plants like it that way, seems to help with light burn. The Scorpion is in a 48"x48"x95" tent and It's adjusted the same way but I will run the dimmer a little higher if the plants will take it. A par meter like the Photo Bio Phantom is worth a look. It will help you understand your grow lights better in how and where they are the most intense in your grow space. There's plenty of par meters out there if you consider one I bought the Phantom on the advice of someone on this forum.
Consider sending HLG an email or giving them a call. Every time I have done that they have been more than helpful. I hope you have as good of an experience as I have. I'm not a shill for HLG or anything I just like their stuff.Last edited by golfnrl; 02-20-2025, 12:24 PM.Gorilla Grow tents, HLG Lamps, Coco/Perlite 50/50, All Autopot, CX Horticulture nutrients full line Growing photo's and autos
