    Grower from europe!

    Hello together!

I'm from germany and I'm also a beginner. I just grow the second time. My first grow began at september 5th 2024 with the strain named "critical" an I finished this in december 2024. Actually I grow a strain named "banana glue", and in contrast to the first grow last year I had some problems. In some cannabis boards in germany I not found professional help. Than I found this site, and I found help for all my questions. That's the reason why I'm here now.

After a vegetation about 28 days I'm now in flowering day 11, and I found some weeks ago symptoms on my plants like by the tobacco mosaic virus. But my plant grow very good, strong and fast. I think that all you understand that I was very confused about that. All other informations I got at first where that my plant is very sick and it's better to stop the grow. Than I found this site, and I got here the information that if you have symptoms like this, but your plants grow very good and fast, it probably not must be the tobacco mosaic virus. It can be many other reasons why the plants looks like so. So I don't stop my grow and meanwhile I satisfied about my decision.

I hope we all here can have fun with our hobby, the growing from cannabis, and help each other!

If there is interest by you all, I can show pictures from my first and also my actually grow.

    Best regards, Hike!

That was my first grow from september 5th till december 3th. The strain was a critical. I used a 720 Watt LED-Panel and growed in a 120x120x200 cm grow tent.

Awesome stuff. That's one ripper grow for a first. Did you examine the trichomes under a loupe or digital microscope to determine when to harvest?

How did you dry & cure and how does it smoke?

That's my second and actually grow, meanwhile flowering day 11, in the stretch time. Strain in named banana glue. And as I whrote in my first post, even though they have some symptoms they looks like how from the tobacco mosaic virus, the grow also grow very fast and good.

Thanks a lot. But I must say that the strain I growed was a very good, meanwhile 10 years old pheno. I got it from a guy who saved this because it works so great.

I used only a loupe and tried to get at this way how ready the buds where. But unfortunately I harvested a little early...there where about 20% transparent trichomes.

And the smoke was very fine and creamy. A good, old oldschool smoke I would say...

Oh good stuff. I can't dry individual buds on a rack here as they dry too fast.

I relate to old school and can see that in your first pics, strong sativa traits. Early harvest is fine, it's better than moldy buds but if you can maintain a low relative humidity keep em going longer. Sativas take a long long time to amber up.

Yes, maybe I made some things wrong at the first time.
But this strain was mostly indica. Indica 70% and sativa only 30%. The plants was only 70cm/27,58 inches high. But very big buds. But I topped every strain 1x.

                  You did a great job!

So what's next. Apart from growing a little longer any other changes you are thinking of making?

                Thanks for your praise, Bluey!

Like in the other post you can see that my actualy grow is the strain "banana glue". It's also a mostly indica strain. Now I work more exactly with the PH from the water. At begining the water was 5,8-5,9 PH. Now, in the stretch in the flowering, the water has a PH from 6,1. I fertilize my strains as how the first grow only mineralic by Plagron. At the time they get a EC about 2,6. And I use now a booster, named PK 13/14. Do you know that? At the first grow I don't look exactly how the PH is. I know, some say it not very important to look at the PH by growing soil, because soil buffering it. But I think it can be important, so the plants can easier get all their nutrients in the right dosage.

Meanwhile I bought also a smaller tent only for cuttings and seeds. I will search an seperate good genetics and grow them. From the good genetics I will keep the mother plants.

Do you also grow mineralic or organic?

I grow in coco or a mix of coco & perlite. Outdoors a mix of composted soils but haven't done that for a while now.

In coco I use a mix of both mineral and organic liquid nutes and have to monitor the EC & pH of every feed. I also monitor water temp and try and keep it about 20⁰C. The lower the temp the more it can hold dissolved O² before becoming saturated.

Interesting...I myself have no experiences with growing in coco, but I heard it seems to be more difficult because you must watering them more. As substrate coco cannot hold the water like soil.
Yes, I try to watering my plants also with water temperature about 20°C.

Vielen Dank!
