    HELP! What's causing this?

I've had this problem for a couple weeks but I'm growing AK-47 and the leaves are turning yellow through the bottom half of the plant. There's also some brown tips and a few leaves that are starting to curl down near the tips and a couple leaves with small brown spots starting near bottom of plant. I'm growing in Fox Farm Happy Frog soil and using Fox Farm Grow Big nutrients every other watering. This is only my second grow ever so any help would be appreciated. Here's some pics...

I wasn't using Calmag but I just started using it yesterday. I'm hoping that's all it is.

Couple of things going on with your leaves there.

Loss of pigment on some leaf edges.

What appears to be burn on the tips and some leaf edges

Loss of pigment between the margins.

First thing to look at is your pH. What pH are you giving them with the nutes and what pH are you giving without the nutes and type of water? Are you varying the pH to suit the soil range for that stage of growth? What parameters?

Are you measuring the EC or PPM of the feed?

I know nothing about that soil or the nutes you are using so someone can jump in on that?

Watering frequency and how iften do you run off and how much?

Brown spots (rust) and loss of pigment is normally a calmag deficiency, common as in coco, but I think you may have other shit going on but not sure what exactly.

Temps and RH (VPD if you know it)?

Edit. Light levels? Reducing light till the problem worked out will often help.

Edit #2. The calmag deficiency is not likely being caused by a lack of calmag. Need to determine the cause. Likely pH or watering practices.

Just chiming in. Runoff would be watering until the water leaks from the bottom of your pots
And how many times have you given water until u see water coming out of the bottom, also how much water do you have coming out at a time.

Honestly I didn't think I was suppose to do that but I do end up with runoff at least once every 2 weeks but it's not much.

I check pH every single watering. It's critical in coco and hydro. I think it's important in some soils also, although I didn't bother when I composted my own soil. Check your pH meter is reading correctly. What water are you using? Check the plain water with the EC meter and see if you get a reading.

Giving the plants a flush is a good idea. Add a small amount of nutes just to get an accurate pH reading which will give you an idea of what the plain water is. Hopefully not way off the mark.

I think full nutes mixed with soil containing nutes, especially if a bit hot, will cause lockout, which may be consistent with the burn I think I see.Too much of one can lockout another. So flushing out the soil and starting again with less nutes is a good approach.

VPD is OK, but on the high side which will make a strong nute medium/ feed worse for the plant. Even more nutes getting into it.

Getting runoff in soil alone is not great. When adding some liquid nutes runoff twice a week to flush out salt build up is a good idea. Once every two weeks just a little with full strength nutes is probably not enough to wash out the build up and rubbish.

I don't have experience with fabric pots but believe it makes things a bit more difficult to manage.at times.

I don't know about that soil. Someone who knows can probably help more there. Nutes may not be needed at all at this stage, I am not sure.

Light is probably fine but I'd raise them a few inches till resolved.

I’ve had much worse problems and one thing that really helped was fox farms boomerang, maybe phosphorus toxicity but I’m no pro
