Thai Sticks wrapping with hemp paper - 1 layer or 2?

Hi. Making my first attempt at Homemade Thai Sticks. for wraps, i wa going full original and intended to use leaves from a friend's plants. However, they were just too small to be of use. Reading - the use of hemp papers are second choice. I have now wrapped once with paper lightly coated with oil and kief, heated em to infuse and harden them, but now i am wondering if i should wrap a second time. Supposedly wrap a few times if using cannabis leaves. Has anybody experience with using hemp paper for their thai Hash Sticks, and if so, would you do another wrap. I think I should , since mine are roughly half inch diameter and there's gotta be some holes. Pretty time consuming things to make, so hoping they will be aweome!
A happy Canuk. this grow will be using Flora Flex nutrients in coco/perlite. 9 plants in 3 by 3 tent and 8 plants in 2 by 4, in 1 or 2 gallon pots (whatevere is there). manual fertigation planned. veg till around 1 ft high. 2 by 4 tent light is Bloom Plus 2500 and 3 by 3 tent has Mar Hydro Ts3000, both of which seem awesome.

me too. not pure, since i used two of my favs, Top 30% and bruce Banner for buds, and then used hemp wrap instead of leaves - but they still look right.

Darn. i was hoping someone had gone through this too and could advise, but its all fun to try. I did add another cover of the Hemp papers, totally coated with oil and kief, so they are really dosed. I can add a few photos if anybody is interested, but now i will be waiting for them to cure and then something new. I have never even tried one, just cannagars.

Dam Cold Now Bootsy....Post some pics of your final product..

I think 2 layers would suffice, with that much oil if they are not supper stoned then it would be a matter of the strain used IMO. I have thai, strawberry cough, and cotton candy kush pics on here some where in the show your grow 5 or so years ago.

I'm inspired and interested. First round of testing and it smoked. Harsh but I used flower that was still a little moist. All I did is spear and roll buds then wrapped a paper over it tightly and let it sit. A day. It held together on its own and burned decent. Now I plan to make a decent sized one with keif and leaves as the paper. Way back when I hung out with people that used honey to seal blunts. Was thinking to use that for the leaves since I don't have oils. Also was thinking to use some sticky wax where I needed adhesion. All in the name of science....

Thx for the pic. I was wondering what these things looked like. I've only ever heard stories about them.

        Test #2

Going to let it rest a few days. Who knows how much I will smoke. I don't get out much during cold parts of winter and it's been -/+ in Ohio for a bit now. So this would be a big pj for me ... Personal joint. Half inch or so in diameter. Standard papers, joined together with the glue strip. May put it in the convection oven for some bonding action. Low temp. Was thinking it would be a good way to get rid of trim and older buds if it works without the paper. Gimmicky but smokable.....

I like it. how did it turn out? I will say I think the little time on fry pan worked a charm for the infusing of mine.

Sorry for the delay in my pics. see attached. the process i followed was to thread buds (slightly larger than quarter sized) over the skewers. then dripped some hard oil that was loosened with Ethanol, followed by sprinkling with a bunch of kief. wrapped them in parchment paper and tied tight with string. let set for a couple days, after which unwrapped them, dripped some more oil and kief. then wrapped in first cover of thin Hemp paper which was very slick with oil and sprinkled with kief. then tied the assembly with hemp wick (which is waxed string). These were then wrapped in parchment paper and kept in a cold room for another day. They were then unwrapped, covered with another layer of slicked hempp paper and kief again, wrapped tightly with hemp wick (see photo with very tight string). this was then heated in a frying pan to better infuse the interior. Now rewrapped in parchment to cure for a few days. I have started one and given one other to my brother. unwrapped, spun out the stick and light the whole end. the smoke is drawn thru the hole, is really intense and nice. Definitely a cool party favour, and one is intended for super bowl party. each one had to take a half hour to make, and is a significant amount of nice bud, kielf and oil. next time i will measure, but it will be awhile. It really smokes clean and no running at all, and the paper cover has a hard but some what flexible feel a lot like a cigar feel . Cheers

You state the hash oil thickened up and required to ethanol so it would spread.. What proof of Liquor did you Use?

Did it still smoke harsh Bootsy? Looks Mean.......

i use 100% ethanol when i loosen up the oil for uses. in past have also used spirytus at , I think around 80%, but when I do it requires extra drying for some uses like coating papers due to the extra water in it. I would describe the flavour as quite tasty (except for a seed I missewd- ick), but the intensity is the cool thing. each puff is almost like doing a hot-knife. Sampled the one with a few friends last night, with total approval and another first for everyone. next Christmas could be the preferred gifting.. And there is still almost half left of this one

Yeah the Spirytus worked well for my hash oil endeavor - The cost of the Spirytus is what prompted me to look into distilling some 170% proof just to have for has oil....It would Store a very long time.... That project went to the way side but I did commandeer the inkbird controller from the distilling supplies and now use to control heat and or humidity.

Bootsy you introduced me to something I thought was something else and know as something else. I thought TS was just a way to cure and transport Thai bud that was small and larfy: Wrap the buds on the stick and that's it. No idea they were smoked like that. The Thai stick you made I know as a cannagar. The work you put into the thing... my beard salutes you and you get a thumb. You've given me something to think about with this grow. Your Thai stick looks like a coprolite you grew in a tampon (can I say that) but I'd smoke it!

To all others who are talking about ethanol for extraction. I've been told $86 is a good price for the shipped gallon of 100%, food grade, Kosher I get from Best Value Vacs. We can't get anything over 151% in California so online is the only way to go.

Yeah, a Christmas gift of a cannagar is what got me interested in these. i had never had one before. I routinely super power my joints, but if make too infused they end up a solid and wont draw. the hole in the middle really seems to work a charm.

Well I didn't have much time stacking the buds or rolling it but it did break in the end. My hand has some issues going on so I can't squeeze with my right hand. Rode out a cramp a few weeks ago when I had a deer staring at me that I wanted. She got away and she got me. So I blame that. I usually can roll anything. I'll do it again and post one day.

I tested out broken pieces of it and it smoked so there is hope. I used molasses as an adhesive. Sort of worked. More room on the work surface needed for sure. I'm assuming it was more than an eighth or so of buds. Not a thai stick but will be a good smoke when I get it going.

Do you know what a sushi rolling mat is Pyrokill ? Might be right up your alley for applying even pressure with one hand. You can put body weight on it instead of doing all the work with your hands and use palms instead of fingers.
The video is not a Thai stick, but I'm sure you're not too high to pick up what I'm laying down.
