One of our fish had babies yesterday

Holy moly Gator! A mama and her fry. How cool is that? That looks like a good amount of fry in the photo? Are all of those little floaters around her the babies? I'll bet her cheeks really swell when she has them in her mouth.

Yeah, those are the babies, probably a couple hundred of them, they're all just swimming around and mom and dad protect them all

The big one is the dad

Proud poppa. Did he change color while trying to mate?

The females turn a pale pink, and their underside turns orange

We also have another female, we're pretty sure she's going to have babies also

The mating dance is awesome to watch if you get a chance to see it.

And we have 2 banded cichlids

We call this one pumpkin, he's constantly tearing shit up

All of the plants are real, the one on the right side was less than half the size it is now

I just ordered 12 lbs of slate rocks for the aquarium, the babies need a place to hide from the other fish, coming today after 5

The babies figured out that they can hide from the other fish in the plants lol dad's always on guard

[Gator]

Got some of the rocks in place, the rest of them are too big and need to be split, good thing my dad was one of the best stone Masons in this area and he showed me how to split stones
