She is 8 1/2 weeks into flowering I’m having a hard time reading the status of the trichomes. They seem to look cloudy but at the same time clear. Many fan leaves are starting to yellow, and pistils are beginning to die back. How many more weeks would you say until harvest day?

You need to look at more than what that pic reveals but clearly if that is the top of the plant and main cola I'd say easily more than two weeks.Flower Room: 11' x 7' x 7.5'H, 480w AC, 13gal/day dehumidifier, 1.5gal ultrasonic humidifier, 60gal (27gal usable) nute tank, 16" pedestal fan & 18" wall fan. 21 posts in this forum about weed. Don't take this the wrong way but I'm going to assume you have not done too much growing?
I do not know what is worse: Running out of weed and not knowing if you will hook up today or tomorrow or wondering when your trichomes are going to be ginger enough. The four-letter 'P' word is Patience.
Lemme throw this down. As soon as you harvest, you will still have time before you can do much with it. Fucking P!
I promise, the anxiety gets easier. It doesn't go away. It just gets easier. And if you didn't, and if you don't know, check out the link I shot you up top. It'll help explain what to look for to get what you're looking for.C'mon, mule!

No offense taken! This is my first ever grow (and the first ever plant in general I have raised outside). I know patience is key, but some of these molds and mildew popping up are spooking me just in time for the Halloween season. So far, I have lost 3 bud sites and it's a dagger every time.
Also, the trichomes are tripping me out: Just looking at the flowers, I could swear that they look milky as if they are ready to go. I take my new magnifying glass and the majority turn out to be clear(ish) still! I just HAD to ask the Pros to read their thoughts in their own words.

If you have mold, you have mold. Doesn't matter when you harvest. Worry more about getting rid of mold when you see it while everything else is ripening.
Check your trichomes in different light. That can make a difference.

Id agree your easily 2 weeks, but personally id lay money on month if you go to full amber. If possible add more fans to keep that air moving really keep it moving, especially at lights out. Water at first light so the plant has all day to use up water. watering in the late afternoon or evenings can cause condensing humidity at cooler lights out temps. Watering slightly less on water days may help as well. Usually we water until it runs out the bottom, watering a little less so it doesn't run out the bottom may help with this as well. The down side to that is you'll be watering more frequently. A little extra defoliating may help as well, allowing air to circulate through the plant better. These are all little tricks that have helped me in the past. The good news is though your in the window now, let it go as long as you can but keep an eye on it and if it starts go south, you can harvest knowing you'll still get some decent stuff.3'x3'x6'6" Sun Stream tent

Yep 2wks for sure probably 3. Unless she finishes suddenly in like 4 days. Some cultivars I've ran with have done that so basically keep a sharp eye for a sudden finish but expect 2wks for sure maybe 3. Good luck growmie

I check on her at least twice a day mornings and evenings. I am watching those pistils slowly get more brown and brown every day. It sucks that I don't know the strain. But brushing your hand against the flower smells exactly like Skittles. Candy sweet fruit, with maybe a pinch of gas. (maybe it's the Z!)

I think this is an outdoor plant Gingerbeard,
post # 6.1 No offense taken! This is my first ever grow (and the first ever plant in general I have raised outside). It looks to be under a tarp. LunarsDankCage, when looking at trichomes you want to look beyond the trichomes on the sugar leaves as they will turn cloudy faster than deep in the bud....thats where you want to be checking them. I'm saying 3-4 weeks.Shappel S3000 3.5x6x6' ice hut

This is my setup in question. Ghetto? Oh hell yes, it is. Does it withstand moderate to light rain? Surprisingly, yes! I have VERY limited resources at my disposal this time around. The shed has no power, so I have to drag out an extension cord from the plug near my pool, which is a good distance away. I would add more fans if the plug weren't in series with my dusk-to-dawn area light—the breaker likes to trip otherwise. I kept one half of the cage with the wild growth to help hide away the plant because people are weirdly nosey.
My plan before the next growing season is to demolish the cage once I harvest this plant and replace it with a hardy greenhouse that has a power source with lights and fans over the winter. The greenhouse will be big enough to shelter cannabis and other fruiting crops like tomatoes and cucumbers, all in raised garden beds with proper trellis. It's a lot of work, but it will be far better than what I have now.

Extension cord to outside fan. Gerry Tweeker greenhouse. Right under your neighbor's window. Well done! You get a thumb. Watch the people post their jealousy.
People been gettin' by in the ghettos for a long time. I can see something like what you have in many backyards in my ghe... neighborhood.
I don't know your weather. Greenhouse, cloche, and painters plastic work well for a ghetto greenhouse. The downside is wind. The plastic needs to be kept as taught and loose end free as possible or wind can tear it apart.
C'mon, mule!

Exactly right! I am using a painter's tarp to shield her. My first design for the tarp was more of a traditional A-frame roof. It looked great, but the first couple of nights the wind destroyed it and the following morning I found my plant wedged in between the fence posts. That was the first few weeks of flowering and thankfully she was unhurt. So, I went for a more flat but bumpy approach, and somehow even though it looks like hell it does very well. I even recessed the milk crate into the ground so the plant could have some headroom.
Oh yeah, I looked like an absolute fent fiend setting this up LOL! But I don't care, as long as it shields my beauty from some poor conditions I am happy. I am in the New England area, so the weather here more often than not changes on a dime. Humidity is the one consistency in the weather, and it's always in the damn 80-90%'s!
-
I have a friend who grew autos over the summer, and he dealt with a lot of bud rot too. But he didn't ever shelter his plants from rain, so that didn't help. Humidity at the moment is 79%. Just been a very wet couple of years up here.
-
Consider a lean-to style where the slope is only on one side of the roof. That will keep water from pooling.
Also consider various types of chicken wire and plastic mesh you can line the inside with. It will help keep the plastic from flapping and still allow in light. And do not enclose it! An enclosed plastic box outside in your humidity will do things to your plant this forum may have never seen.
I'm about as far southwest US as you can get. New England, man. I want me some New England. My southwest US is covered in concrete and manmade. But I am stupid and poor. I am not stupid because I am poor. I am poor because I am stupid. Unless that first thing changes, all I get are NE pictures. That second thing will never change.C'mon, mule!

LOL! Oh man, you made me do a little belly laugh! I do not plan to leave the NE USA at any point in my life. I might move to Maine if I ever get the funds. I stay away from the southwest for that very reason. Very cookie-cutter, concrete, and just straight up unsustainable! I hope you get to at least travel to the NE, the nature here is breathtaking, especially during the fall, and let's not forget that NE clam chowdah
