    AutoPot ScrOG

I’m trying a different technique on this grow. Instead of keeping everything tucked under the screen until I want it to grow upwards, all growth is being kept above the screen. Im using plant ties to keep everything low and guided the way I want. Master Kush has a 14”x15” screen, the Strawberry Lemonade has a 18”x18” screen

4 way’d above the 4th node, removed nodes 1 and 2, grew those 4 colas out then topped again above node 3 once the 4 main colas had 5 nodes each. Veg wasn’t too much work. I flipped them to flower on 8/18, spent about 20min per plant tying everything back down today. So far looks good

Sometimes it's best to get them on top early especially if they are well spread out cause when they stretch and put on bulk they can easily fall below the net and out of the light. I've had problems with mine like that but only cause they were way too big and spindly, and just fall down. Way too much stretch in the veg cupboards though.

13 days after going to 12/12. Removed a few leaves and did the last major adjustments. Will focus on upward growth from here on.

I use 2”x3” garden fencing for the screen. The screen gets zip tied to a plant ring stuck down in the soil then I zip tie them to the handles on the pot to keep everything in place. This allows each plant to have its own space to fill and I can move them around when needed

That is a great idea, I may have to steal.
I like to be able to get my plants out of the tent for defol etc. I only have access to two sides as it’s in the corner of a room, so that’s always kept me from doing any type of Scrog but now I see the solution

That’s exactly why I started doing this. My basement ceiling is low so I’m growing in 5ft tents which forces me keep the canopy down but growing multiple plants under one screen is too cumbersome.

FYI…ive always tucked under the screen, this is the first time I used plant ties to keep everything above the screen. It’s made it easier to remove leaves as needed once in flower but was a lot more work during veg and the stretch. I’ll probably go back to tucking after this grow

Week 3 of 12/12 is coming to an end. Both plants have a nice level canopy and have pretty much filled this 2x4 tent. I’ll get in there in a couple days and do some thinning out.

That is working out very nice bboyfromwayback that is a even canopy. Tucking might be a issue?? Color is going to be easy to spot!

Thanks. This method has been more work than tucking under the screen but the plants seems to like it more this way. Possibly it’s less stressful than growing against the screen

I thought they would push way out and buckle between tie downs. Is there still some stretching to do yet ?

Hopefully they’re finished stretching! I did a little more adjusting but the screens are pretty much filled and the outer colas are up against the tent walls

Would a metal screen work better than plastic? Something like a stainless steel wire mesh with a large opening http://www.bwire.com

I just would rather use stainless steel than plastic on the plants for long term health, etc. Less toxins?

Sure, the material isn’t really important. It’s the training technique that matters

We’re about midways through the flowering stage now. I finally got them thinned out a little the other day. Both plants are healthy and developing nicely.

I really wish I would have used a bigger screen for the Master Kush, it stretched a lot more than anticipated. The Strawberry Lemonade filled its screen close to perfection.

Week 8 from going to 12/12, still a ways to go. Both plants still look super healthy and are starting to get chunky. They’re still drinking a lot of water, about 1 gallon per day. I’ll probably remove all the remaining sucker leaves this week

Harvest day, 79 days since going to 12/12. The Strawberry Lemonade is all milky with about 20% amber. The Master Kush is all milky with some amber and very chunky tops.
