    Dr Ray purple auto, 11 weeks in ... nearly there?

    Hi,
    To my mind things are looking good for my conservatory grown autoflower (though it hasn't turned purple, which is a bit disappointing). I feel it needs another couple of days before I harvest ... would you agree?
    Cheers,
    Kev

      I don't usually post in on harvest questions, but you have more than a couple days to go. Too many white hairs. Check out the main GWE website for harvest pictures and information.
      The purps don't always happen. Temperatures have a lot to do with colors.
      C'mon, mule!

          Not yet. More than a week easy, more like two +.

          Your plant is pretty healthy and those flowers are likely still developing and trichomes don't look like they have come on yet.

          Keep em going and good job.

            Your autoflower looks great! Dense buds, cloudy trichomes, and some amber ones appearing. Another couple of days should do the trick. Don't worry about the lack of purple coloration. Keep an eye on those trichomes and harvest when you see more amber ones. Good luck!

                It appears to me that there are a few compromised accounts that were set up years ago and are now active giving what appears to be bullshit answers to questions on here.

                Likely scammers is all I can deduce.

              Something is screwy all over the place. Elmer Fudd screwy. A google search of the first bud image comes up as Sour Diesel. Maybe that's why no purps. Google says it's SD so it must be SD.
              On the other hand, the other two pictures are some sort of language.
              I'm getting a little weirded out. I wish Going2fast were here. He'd settle our hash right coast style.

              Hi, and thanks for the feedback. I had seen the ‘when to harvest’ section, but to be honest, there’s a lot of conflicting info out there: some sites say 50%-70% brown pistils is when to chop, some say wait for 100% brown pistils … some say cloudy trichomes, some say half amber …
              anyway, I’ll give it a bit longer.
              btw, this is the seed I bought - https://londonseedcentre.co.uk/canna...-purple-dr-ray
              im not bothered that it didn’t turn purple, lots of the reviews say that it wouldn’t … just would have been nice (it looks so cool in the picture)
              thanks again,
              kev

                Learn to read the trics;
                Clear = paranoid racy high
                Milky = highest THC point
                Amber = couch lock
                Using this, harvest when it pleases you.
                Purple comes from cooler temps as a general rule.

                  On your successive grows you will get your own feelings about when to harvest. You also read about the effects of the different trichome colors. Some folks will harvest an Indica with nary an amber for a zippy Indica, while others will let a Sativa go heavy on the amber.
                  Here's how it'll break down. Your first bowl will be absolutely amazing as it is the first bowl you have grown for yourself. You will be hypercritical of each successive bowl, kicking yourself for too much/little amber. Hating yourself for not harvesting a week earlier/later. Wanting to (not) give away samples of your work. So much confustion.
                  Next grow, you'll freak out more about when to harvest.
                  Third grow, you'll get your rhythm.

                    You can harvest a plant progressively over a 4 or 5 week period and then sample all stages of the plants trichomes.

                    Progressive harvesting also can assist with better yields also if done right.

                      Sorry to bring this up again, but I really want to get this right. Should I harvest now, or does it need more time?

                        When to harvest is personal.

                        I would wait. From the little I can see your plant looks extremely healthy which indicates its still young and developing at its own pace.

                        Your trichomes are in the harvest window, but I'd wait. I need close up pics of the flower trichomes at different heights/light levels/age.

                        Your pistols are still bursting out of their calyx. The flower is still growing and getting larger and mature. New trichomes are growing. Watch closely for continued flower growth.

                        How much water is she taking? Measure it and use the drop off of water uptake as an indicator to the plants slowing development and growth.

                        If your rental inspection is within the next few weeks, consider harvesting.
