My plants split wide open- is it still OK?

YES! Every once in a while someone posts about splitting or severely breaking a plant. Here is an example of a plant that had a severe split down the middle on the main stem when it was trained hard. Just wrap it up tight in blue painter's tape and move along. It will heal, these plants are very resilient. Here are the bones after harvest and the tape removed. Still a good yield.

Blue painters tape? Why not green? Any voodoo spells? I always throw down with a good voodoo spell when I break something. Or swear.
I've been just this close to posting a similar thread of inconsequential leaf maladies that tend to freak out the youngsters.
    C'mon, mule!

I have used whatever is handy and years ago I had rolls of teflon tape for doing the threads of water pipes.

I used that on a small plant and it worked far better than I expected not only sealing the wound but also tightening as the plant grew giving it further support, so I stuck with it. It didn't cut into the plant or slow it down.

This last grow I had a WW x SD and the centre split badly and the main cola branches just snapped off when I looked at them. The teflon worked again but I appear to have introduced a mosaic virus into her via one of the wound sites. One branch completely snapped off, but I still got it to harvest and it yielded quite well still.
