    Well that's a little sad

I was planning on waiting another week to harvest this Chemdawg, since the trichomes are nice and frosty. Figured one more week to let them bulk up a little won't hurt. But then I found this...

I don't know if this is the result of poor genetics, or because I turned the light down from 100% to 80%. But this plant had been giving me problems from the very beginning. Didn't want to pop out of its shell - it took an additional two days just to get going. Then it was very small in stature, almost dwarfish. Didn't want to grow vertically at all. Internodal length was no more than a half inch which resulted in a very compact, stubby plant. I took off all the top buds but was amazed to find a very dense, lower layer. So, I'll just keep it going for now and hopefully another week or so will help these remaining flowers mature without any more nanners.

PS: I know my RH is a bit high. I had hoped to get this crop finished before the sweltering summer weather took hold, but I got a late start and didn't start germinating until early February. I think they'll be ok for just another few days and then they'll be chopped anyway and into the drying room.

If you are that close to harvest and there are no other plants in the room, I would just pick them off and finish the plant.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Lots of other plants in the same room. Also, I debated letting the ChemDawg go by itself and create feminized seeds, but I figure if it's already showing signs of genetic corruption, I'd rather not propagate the line any further.

I think you did the right thing. She did look good to me prior to you pointing out those nanners. I never use to see in the old days with reg seeds nanners and issues as much as the frantic breeding with seeds now. Seems like those seeds from 20+ years ago were never a fragile growing or stressed as much as todays hybrids.

I completely agree! There's definitely been a trade off with the availability of a variety of strains, and the increase occurrence of genetic degradation. I just hope one say with all this cross breeding and genetic manipulation that we don't have some sort of cannabis blight.

I'd pull the Nana's reduce air movement for a bit and keep it going. I could only see what looks like one late stage open Nana. If it's much worse than that maybe pull the plant but I'd try and save it.

Nah, there are several more on different buds. I've got so much weight in that room right now I'm not too particular about one plant. Like I posted I did leave the lower canopy to see what will happen, but I've got no patience for mutants. This coming weekend might be the final chop for all of them. I just wanted to get it all done in one swoop so I could use the tent as a drying room. Right now, I have buds hanging all over my bathroom like air fresheners, LOL!

I hear ya there User420111 I don't have another tent to dry in so it's closets for small grows and the whole friggin spare bedroom wall to wall string hung from curtain rods to door latches LOL it stays dark but it's subject to frequent air movement when i walk through. Sometimes i forget and walk into the hangers bump them with my head duhh

As i've gotten older User420111 and it helps 100% to be in a legal state with weed, i don't fret about folks knowing i grow. I have my front door with a locked screen door wide open in summer evenings as i sit watching a show and i smoke joints so it will escape out the door LOL.
My house i'm sure reeks of it i can't tell it but folks who visit do and i'm sure the people walking in the evenings smell it, frankly " scarlet " I don't give a damn.

Absolutely SoOrbudgal I agree and also live in a legal state. I also unfortunately live in a college city, and a transient city. We have a terrible problem with homeless encampments and substance abuse. I would otherwise not give a damn but the idea of these hoople heads knowing my business is a tad off-putting to me. So I like living near the police and state troopers. We all know each other and have a great little sub community going on around this block.
