    Mineral build up

    Hey everybody.

I have been running my humidifier alot lately. I use softened tap water.

I noticed the lights closest to the humidifier have a white powder build up on the tops. I can wipe these down. As I would normally do in between grows.

What concerns me is how much mineral build up on the LEDs themselves? I don't normally touch the LED side of the SF1000. I have gently run a Swifter duster over them, but that's about it.

So anyway. I'm not sure if I can do anything anyway. Click image for larger version

Maybe switch ti distilled or RO water, as to the deposits on the LEDs them selves IDK.

Are you using an ultrasonic humidifier? If so the deposits are the dissolved minerals in the water that are left after the small droplets evaporate. Use distilled water to avoid this.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Ckbrew is on point. As far as the LEDs they are sealed and can be wiped down with a damp cloth gently. Off and cool of course.

You could also try using the water from your dehumidifier if you are running one but be mindful it can be highly corrosive to some metals.

My T3 gives off a slight white residue and I use RO water.
