Stock up on Teflon tape. We are phasing it out now where I work. I'm sure it will still be around but other places I know of are also going to paste vs tape because of issues with using it.

I have quite a bit of it here.
I first used it maybe 20 years ago on an outdoor grow that got attacked by some hungry animal. That was all I had to tape it up at the time and by the time I'd gotten around to buying some proper tape the Teflon had worked heaps better than I'd hoped and I've stuck with it since.

She's a hell of A mother plant what's next for her?
-
LOL. I am wondering the same thing.
It's had a few huge chop backs but it's still a mess so I'll need to give it another. It must have well over 100 bud sites so I'll need to halve that and flatten it out. Then I'll flip it and work hard at trying to keep it happy in its 7gal pot, watch it slowly cover itself in rust spots on the leaves and cross my fingers I can keep it happy enough to go to full bud development..and try not to kill it with N
Something like that.
-
Didn't have the heart to kill off my mothers as I'll be leaving on a long trip that won't get me back home until December so I put them in the greenhouse and asked my neighbor if she would water them for me I'd give her half of the harvest. She gave me an even better idea and asked if she could put them in her greenhouse to flower and she would propogate the genetics and house them in the 2 x 2 and light I would provide her to keep them in veg.
I didn't even know she smoked until we were talking about 4/20 coming up soon. She's never grown weed before but she is an avid gardener so I told her to join the forum. She's kind of paranoid so she asked if I would just help her if she ran into any issues rather that join but I'm still trying to get her used to the idea that you can talk about weed online and no ones going to be knocking on her door.

That's what I'm looking for. I thought by day 84 she'd be ready but I'm guessing day 94 might be the one
-
I only cut a few buds. All are now on pH'ed water. I've accidentally slowed growth too with too much N but I've increased the light. The smallest one is still on water, must be day 8 now and it's still 95% dark green but it is growing very slowly and has a long way to go, most of the calyx are only partly open or unopened but it's trichomes have come on for harvest so won't get to full maturity growth wise by the looks of it.Last edited by Bluey; 04-22-2024, 07:36 AM.

LOL wish i could of said that about my 3 photoperiod Bluey but i did'nt do a real close trim on mine just enough so they'll slow dry. Your basement is great to use for drying. I got a garage but i don't want nothing flying around to get on them. Mine were not leafy cause i had been removing larger fans prior to chopping. Great looking harvest on your end.

Very fortunate. RH typically sits around 70 to 75% in there and 14⁰C this time of year so had to put the dehumidifier in there and it's working a treat. Temps not going above 17⁰C and running 15 to 17⁰C and usual swings with RH 56 to 63% but mostly around 60%. The last bud pics featured in the GWE weekly magazine too....Credit to Franklin

Those are some nice looking buds you got there!
Took my tangie down this weekend!

Day 5, 4 & 3 of the dry. Started nice and slow at around 60/60 or 16⁰C 60%RH. Today temps had dropped and a rise in humidity to 14.5⁰C & 62%RH so a nice slow start but getting a bit too high with risk of mold now so bringing humidity down another 5% and temps will rise a little bit now over the next day or two. I have done two jar tests and still quite some way to go before jarring.....nice and slow with as stable as I can temps & humidity.Flower Room: 11' x 7' x 7.5'H, 480w AC, 13gal/day dehumidifier, 1.5gal ultrasonic humidifier, 60gal (27gal usable) nute tank, 16" pedestal fan & 18" wall fan. Only 2 hours left on the dry cycle. That means I'll be trimming tonight and then back in for a 4 day cure cycle. After that it "should be" ready to at least sample though it will get better if it stays in there for a month or more. The temp and humidity is pretty stable. Dew point has been slowly dropping over the days. *Don't mind the spike, that was when I was adjusting the buds and my breath on the sensor bumped it up*3 PhotosPeace. Love. Mushrooms and Weed.

I can control the basement environment pretty well although I haven't yet sealed it from a little airflow it does get which I can do easily. This is allowing ambients to effect it but we're only talking at most about 2⁰C swings. Sealing it will bring temps up a bit more but I want to wait and try another approach first. Ignore that little spike, that's the high re RH in the current hour, it will average down to 53/54% with a low of 51%. Can't reduce the RH swings with the big dehumidifier but am putting the small one in there now and those swings should narrow.Flower Room: 11' x 7' x 7.5'H, 480w AC, 13gal/day dehumidifier, 1.5gal ultrasonic humidifier, 60gal (27gal usable) nute tank, 16" pedestal fan & 18" wall fan. Trimmed (destroyed) the huge mother. Exposed lots of juvey bud sites, lots of light green there. Light at 400/450 PPFD across the new canopy and as it develops I'll ramp it up fast trying to keep growth to a minimum without light stress. Will LST with a vengeance every day now and continue cutting back to best suit bud layout and lollipopLast edited by Bluey; 05-03-2024, 04:53 AM.Flower Room: 11' x 7' x 7.5'H, 480w AC, 13gal/day dehumidifier, 1.5gal ultrasonic humidifier, 60gal (27gal usable) nute tank, 16" pedestal fan & 18" wall fan. Jarred another 14 jars from the autos today so 16 all up so far and final harvest to be jarred tomorrow. 30 to 32gm each. Ave about 30.6. All 60 to 65% in the jars and pretty stable for once a day burping.
So that's 7 & 8 day dry. Small branches still not snapping. Not feeling wet but a little stickiness on a few buds. Beautiful perfume aroma.
RH 55% Temp 18⁰C
Final tally tomorrow.
Flushed the 2 in veg with 2.5 gal fresh water each. Recovered over a gal each. Moving to half flower nutes next batch. N is too strong again. Dropped existing nutes to EC 1.3 pH 6.15 36 DLI
Chopped mother nutes EC 1.3 DLI 30
Ive stopped Si on both and was alternating calmag supp.

As it turns out I jarred perhaps a day early and had to leave the lids off last night, peaking a fraction above 65%. Last harvest will be jarred today if the moisture level is low enough. 17 jars, not 16. Should learn to count.
Chopped mother is showing nute burn on 20% of the light green growth that was hidden in the middle of the overgrowth, even with the drop in light and nutes. Will trim off.
WW x took the plain water flush hard and drooped for 2+ days but now picking up. Sativa x random took it in its stride and looks great.
Will transfer clones either today or tomorrow, roots are well over 4 foot long and hoping that makes for easy potting up and not to much shock.Flower Room: 11' x 7' x 7.5'H, 480w AC, 13gal/day dehumidifier, 1.5gal ultrasonic humidifier, 60gal (27gal usable) nute tank, 16" pedestal fan & 18" wall fan. Hey have you ever used a brown paper grocery bag to dry ? It's something i use when i find the same issue as you. Sometimes just 8hrs or even over night.
-
I haven't used that method to dry but I know others that do inc yourself. Its a good method and I reckon helps maintain terps. I've used the brown cardboard, both as boxes and just to sit it on for drying before jarring up. All the trim is sitting on cardboard atm, stone dry. I like cardboard, never had a problem with mold using it and I reckon your method is pretty similar with similar benefits. I used to store my stash in brown paper bags when I was a young fella on the road for whatever reason but stupid me often threw it in the trash thinking it was rubbish. I've now graduated to glass.
I've just sealed the jars up again an hour ago and they're sitting around 61/62. I'll jar the final batch in 12 hours if these hold steady under 65.
-
They actually work really well for a more controlled removal of moisture. Just don't leave them in for too long.
-
-
Total harvest on the four autos 22 and a half jars which equates to 22oz once cured so averaged 5 ½Oz/plant. If not for user error and an environment set perfectly for this strain 8oz/plant would have been no problem with these. I couldn't raise temps and drop humidity as I was cloning and had seedlings in the same space.
My first auto grow and it was a joy. I learnt a lot.
Thanks Franklin for a solid cultivar and good producer.

That's a nice yield! I have one more day left on the cure cycle for the Cannatrol and I'm going to do my final weigh in!! For the Tangie at least. Blue dream is coming down Wednesday night probably.
-
Good lights, good environment, but am improving on nute amounts and balancing pH. It's more difficult to get right in coco without a bit more regular runoff so drain to waste seems the ideal compared to my two previous sativa grows that only suffered mild calmag deficiency. It might stuff with the pH in the medium with a build up of waste.
-
I feel you man... I'm still trying to tweak my grows to give me better results. I don't think I like this fabric pot thing. Even the Coco stays too dry. My friends sister bought a bunch of earth boxes that she doesn't use. They're missing the water pipe but I can just use PVC. I'll be picking then up in 2 weeks so I'll just be doing earth box grows.
Now I just need to make sure I get the nutrients right so I don't under feed. Slowly but surely we'll get to where it'll be like second nature 👍
