    Seedling to light exposure

Good morning team - been a long time lurker and haven't posted much. Recently decided ot up my game and focus more on growing. Recently purchased a tent and new light.

I searched the forum but couldn't find a straight answer - my question is how long after a seedling sprouts should I be giving the little one some light? Growing in a 2 x 2 x 4 tent with Spider Farmer SF1000 light. Growing in coco.

for instance, I had a seedling sprout this much.

Had a little humidity dome over it (cut up water bottle and it ended up drooping and dying within a day or two after this photo. Just wasnt sure how much light to give it.

    Thanks!

Mine have just sprouted and I'm giving them around 10 DLI with an 18/6 schedule just with an H²O² of 0.5% applied as a foliar spray. I spray 3 or 4 times a day atm. Temps 24⁰C of a day. I will start spraying a nute mix on the coco tomorrow around 0.5 EC

    100%RH

Still waiting on 2 to pop. Looks like they may have had a bit too much of a crush in the mail. Still in paper towel.

Don't let them dry out, not even for a minute. They will fall over and die. No second chances. 150 PPFD to start to 300 PPFD on 1st leaf (80%RH] EC 0.8 Max.

The first pic is struggling the most. The reticle was S shaped.. Tomorrow I will perform minor adjustments on it and open heart surgery on the seeds not popping.

They need light as soon as they sprout. Just not to intense for the first week or so, no more than 300 ppfd. No light equals no photosynthesis equals no energy to support growth.

I put mine under a t5 light at about 2" above the plant as soon as the cotyledon leaves are open. 18/6 light schedule. I water my sprouts at 1/4 nute strength to start and transplant to final home when the sprouts leaves reach the sides of the pot.

I do my photoperiods for the first 3wks at 24hrs on. I will turn the small CFL off on my seedlings for 2hrs. At a month old i transplant into a larger seedling pot and begin 18/6 using a mechanical timer in the tent. I go by the sets of leaf nodes forming.

For new sprouts I germinate in the window for 1 day after breaking ground, then under a SF 2000 at 30 inches 24/0 for 1 week. Then 18/6, and slowly lower the light as tolerated.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

I do 200 ppfd for fresh spouted seedlings. I'll up it to 400 at the start of veg. 600 when in full veg. When I flip, ill pump it up to 750 and judge how they handle it, then if they tested it ill pump it to 800. Depends on strain too. Some strains like high ppfd, some don't. Just read the leaves to see if they are happy or not.

Bleaching is a sure sign light is too much. Use a proper meter and lighting is a piece of cake.

Excellent feedback. Going to pick up a light meter. I think I've seen recommendations elsewhere in the forums.

                Thanks!
