    advice on bud rot

I was all excited that this cola had fattened up so nicely, only to find it had started to rot. It looks like it's only in the top part of the cola, where it's really dense.

Do I toss the whole cola, or can I save the lower part where it doesn't appear to have rotted? (though it is a bit overripe)

Humidity was low but I should have harvested last week. The flu had other plans for me. A fan in the tent would help prevent this too, I suppose?

Yes. Air movement through your buds reduces the humidity & temp in the bud which reduces the incidence of bud rot. It makes a big difference.

I cut out the rot and smoke the rest typically. You really need to look into that more yourself and see what the risks are.

Thanks for the quick answer. I definitely will do, just needed to know whether or not to toss the whole thing immediately while in the midst of trimming.

This is the first time I've run into it and I was a bit surprised to find it because of how low the humidity is in my tent. But then again, this is also the first time that I've harvested this late, which was unintentional. And my grow was entirely ignored for the past week. I was struck on exactly the day I planned to harvest X(

      Thanks again for the input!

Regardless of the humidity in your tent, without airflow the humidity in your buds will be close to 100%.

      Bud rot is inevitable.

Tone3000 Get a good big dehumidifier: I'm in the dirty south and I can't grow without one. Suck that humidity out of the air. By all means cut away the rot if there's some salvageable bud in there.

Don't even waste your money on a small one: you need a 50-70 pint machine. This hobby ain't cheap.
