    combining mh/HPS and LEDs

I use a 600w mh/HPS light in my 4x4 tent. A couple years ago I bought a couple new el cheapo small full spectrum LEDs (12"x7") and I use them to start my tomatoes.

Last year I added these to my tent to increase the light to my cannabis. Instead of hanging them horizontally, I hang them on end, vertically. I do this to add light to the sides of my plants where the mh/hps don't reach. My thinking was more light, larger yields.

Someone told me that combining LEDs with mh/HPS isn't a good idea. The different light qualities impact the growth cycles of the marijuana.
Has anyone else heard this. It doesn't make sense to me.

AFAIK, Photons are photons from wherever they come from.

Most of the reports of people trying to side light hasn't really yielded any big results that I know of.

If you want to increase your yields try SCROG.

I'd only bother with side lighting to fix the problem of running out of height in your tent/room.

I dont think there would be much to gain if anything at all.
