Soil vs coco for next grow?

I'm planning out my next grow. I plan on doing all purple punch autos in 5 gallon fabric pots. I used coco coir last time, but i'm trying to decide between using coco again or getting a good organic soil. What do you think? What are the pros and cons of each when growing in a tent?

Did you harvest your last grow with all your problems i would fix those first before you tumble into the unfamiliar. Master one thing at a time.

I agree. In this situation improve on what you know. So that is one thing that coco has going for it. Coco is lighter in weight than soil and that can be an issue when moving bags around your tent.

Yes and no. I havent harvested yet but i have tried to treat the issues i was having. I started giving the plants nutes again. The autoflower seems to have gone back to normal. but the photperiod does not seem to have gotten any better or worse. i think it is ph locked and I'm hoping lowering the next watering ph to 6 flat with nutrients will reverse this because my coco for the photoperiod is currently sitting at 7- 8ph. The photo still has dense healthy buds, but the leaves are still showing signs of deficiency. The photoperiod has been the hardest to manage because of the aforementioned reason and because it quickly outgrew my tent so im constantly having to manipulate the branches and move around my light to get the top buds from getting cooked. while still making sure the auto get the light it needs

Growing different strains together in the one tent is a tough one and will always be a compromise trying to get the best from them.
All things being equal you will get more yield from coco than soil but do you need the buffer that soil provides? If not Id go coco.

Yeah that was definitely something I didnt consider on my first grow. Definitely rectified that among other things for my next grow

        >do you need the buffer that soil provides?

I suppose not. I was doing just fine right up until i went too heavy on the nutes the other week, then over-corrected which is what brought me to where my photo is at now. Its not even that bad tbh. the leaves are just discolored. the buds are still dense and healthy with a lot of trichomes. I would just have to trim the discolored leaved during harvest.

Autos in a 5 gal? Do they need pots that large?

I switched from soil to coco coir for indoor growing for a couple of reasons. For me at least, the yields were not as great in soil as they are in coco. I started out in soil and tended to love my plants to death by giving them too much water. It's hard to over water with coco. If I could build my own soil, I'd have probably stayed with the dirt just cause I like it, notwithstanding the yields. But, I settled on coco/perlite and the autopot system, haven't looked back.
          Auto/Photo Tent: Gorilla 2x4x7'11" HLG 350R, Infinity 4" w/Carbon Filter, Coco 50/50 perlite
          Autopot system
          : 1 Purple Haze/Malawi 100% Sativa Ace Seeds
Photo Tent: Gorilla 4x4x7'11" HLG Scorpion R, Infinity 6” w/Carbon Filter, Coco 50/50 perlite, Autopot system: 2 Purple Haze/Malawi & 2 Malawi 100% Sativa Ace seeds
Nutrients: CX Horticulture - full line for both tents

I used to build soil, make biochar, compost, make a top dressing to be used as a spreader and I loved it and it was pretty good. I didn't think I could get better yields using another method.

I was so wrong and I wouldn't use soil indoors anyway.

Pretty sure coco is the best medium for what what we do.
