The loupe just doesn't cut it anymore. The $20 microscopes are a waste of time. My phone camera sucks and yes, I will take the tinfoil wrapper please.

So if you get one and it doesn't suck, just lmk, and I'll get that one.

Going2fast I won't say it's the best ,it works. copy & paste this on amazon Jiusion 40 to 1000x. It's just plug & play on my HP laptop. I don't use the stand I just put a bud onna paper plate and jam the business end into it and move it in or out to focus. Just spend the $20 bro, and play with it. Click image for larger version

Great results, and on a shoestring budget. Good job.

Fvck me. Can even see secondary/tertiary trichomes with that setup. Checkout the insides of these beauties....well done!

I think I have finally settled on this one:

It's 15% off today with the deal that is going on at the moment, down to about $34.

It looks identical to this one, PRIMO, but it's delivered to me two days sooner

so I hope that is the one you meant because several different versions came up when I put in the search. Thanks for the rec.

At any rate, it has decent reviews and the stand looks solid so I can get steady, in-focus shots at high magnification. With any luck, I'll be able to get some shots as good as the ones above by PRIMO. Those purple trichs are wild looking!

It's getting close to harvest time and I need to get a good look at those trichs. Hooray for Prime and speedy delivery. I must be Jeff Bezos's favorite person!

Here are my initial shots with the new scope. I was just holding it freehand, not using the stand, so they aren't even in optimum focus. I am pleased with the results for the minimal investment. The light seems bright enough and the resolution is high enough. It is worlds better than the tiny loupe.

I can see things I haven't seen before.

Heaps of hair type trichomes as can be seen above. This is close to 1000x magnification

Trichomes if all colours on an encrusted pistol.

This will keep me busy for months

And the below is what your looking at and the setup....your looking at mull...it's been ground into tiny pieces

                This arrived today. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...G2T4WT03&psc=1

I'm still experimenting with it. Here are some samples. Compared to the USB cheapo microscopes, the pix come directly from the phone camera so no apps to deal with, the depth of field is still very shallow, focus is a matter of distance from subject, the light on the this microscope appears to be adequate. The biggest advantage that can't be seen in the post is the increased resolution. On a big screen the pix can be enlarged and still have a very detailed quality image. With the cheapo scopes the resolution was so low that any enlargement resulted in severe pixelation and an image not worth viewing.

This is 5.5 month old jar cured Scarlet Sunset. In some pix, particularly in the second, can be seen some scarlet colored trichomes.

Option B - use a firewall app and lock the microscope app down so it can not call home.. Same issue with Smart Tv but more options with home network..
