New member and have been researching past posts. In the 70s i tried pinning plants horizontal to keep the nosey neighbors at bay. Watching post and have questions about pot sizes and would you rather have 2 plants horizontal or 4 plants growing vertical in a tent for best bud production

depends on your set up...but LST is started early to keep the plant short....read Nebulas article on LST and supper cropping....I was able to keep blueberry and a strawberry cough cross under 2 ft tall and that included 10" in of pot height.
I think the thread is planning a new grow area..Light quality and light height play a big roll in keep them short, along with LST.

Big depends on what your space is.
Last grow I took 4 to harvest, 66 days of veg and 65 days of flower and canopy size was around 7' x 5'. I topped 3 times and LST from about week 4 of veg in 13gal pots with coco.
they grew to around 3' on the highest colas, canopy at about 2½' Yield was 3lb11oz, one was a runted mutant that under produced, one had a bad cal mag deficiency and all harvested about 2 weeks before ideal.
Topping to produce a manifold (cropping) with LST and defoliating to maximise bud production and canopy height will produce the best yields indoors for the used space IMHO.

Doing LST has a large number of advantages. The first is that by spreading out the plant, you are able to take better advantage of the available light. This will result in much better yields. The second is that for an indoor grower, it keeps the plant short. This prevents the plant from out growing your enclosure. Smaller pots generally result in smaller plants but may allow your to grow more plants at one time. My tent can accommodate 4-five gallon pots or 6-7 three gallon pots. By the way, welcome to the forum. We have a friendly group and enjoy helping others. Please keep posting.Current Grow: 1 GG4, 2 Hot Cakes, 1 Sweet Gelato Autos

Thanks for the posts. Would like this discussed as I see this as a underutilized technique for bud production.

The technique is discussed here now. Essential to training a single plant to fill a 2x2 space, while keeping the bud canopy even with the lighting. Follow my current grow journal I'm publishing on this forum:2'x2'x5' Custom Breed & Seed Cabinet w/ 4 Roleadro flat-panel 75W lights

Miracle Gro Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer (includes Soy Protein Hydrolysates), 1 tsp./gallon as base nutrient, supplemented with standard Miracle Gro for high-nitrogen plants, and Miracle Gro Bloom Booster during Flower. A bit of Ph Down to take the edge off. Touch of Cal-Mag as well.
