I was wondering what nutrients to use on my shiskaberry, Mac, and G. cake clones? I have some Masterblend 4-18-38, Calcium Nitrate 15.5-0-0, bone meal 2-17-0, and Tiger Bloom? I'll be transplanting them in Ocean Forest soil so I don't know if I need anything right off the bat. Since they're in the veggie stage, I would think the Masterblend or Calcium Nitrate would be the ones to use. This is my 3rd year of growing so I consider myself still a newbie at this.

In general, the brands are (roughly) all the same. What matters is the actual nutrients the plants need at what stage. In veg, N is important, so you'll want more of that in your fertilizer then. When you flip to flower, P and K become more important. Just remember that just because your plants are in veg does not mean that they don't need any P and K, nor when they're in flower that they don't need any N. It's moreso what they need more of based on what processes the plants are performing at different times.Organic indoor grower - 4x4 tent - 2 Electric Sky 180v3s

Personally, I do not like to fiddle around with special soils, additives and amendments. I find that in the nutrient department, less is often more, I use garden compost soil from a nursery. My nutrient are the General Hydroponics Trio. The only additives are Cal-Mag, which I use from seed to harvest and Silicone which I use as it can help deal with heat issues. Nothing else. As long as I maintain my PH in the sweet zone, my weed is all first class.Current Grow: 1 GG4, 2 Hot Cakes, 1 Sweet Gelato Autos

So it would be more of a mix and match to what it needs depending on what stage. Since these will be in the veg stage I would look more to have like a 10-4-4 or something like that until it goes into the flower stage. All that of course is if that's what the plant wants.

That is EXACTLY what you need to do! It made me so happy reading this because I feel like you had a light bulb moment and that's awesome! Keep that as your philosophy while growing and you'll do great things!
Always read the plants. With practice, you'll hear what they're asking for or thanking you for. It takes a lot of work and patience and mistakes to figure it all out, but once you get it, you get it! And don't feel bad if it's never perfect...I'm always learning new things on every grow and I think that any gardener here would tell you the same thing.
So happy you had that aha moment!

If you are trying to go organic, than I agree. But why are you reinventing the wheel? Just buy some organic weed nutes and be done with it.
