That was informative, but it was the most inconclusive conclusion I have seen in a long time. Whats your take on this Green?

Light is key...Light makes all things strong...darkness is for animals to sleep..regain strength we used up during the light...the shift to darkness through the year is what and why we have flower and fruit/vegtable bearing plants/trees....we (animals)...are the only ones who need darkness to rest.
plants with24hrs light will continue to grow and get bigger and stronger...the root base will continue to grow 24hrs as well getting bigger and wider making the plants that much more healthier...with more roots they have more avenues to uptake their food...

that is my stance when it comes to the cannabis plant..in my experience growing cannabis with 24hrs of light in vegetative stage is the best way to go...I have seen no negative outcome from it...(I also have experience with 18/6)

This article just just shows that different photo plants respond differently to continuous light...I would of argued this if I had not read it here...these tests have been going on for years...

I'll stick with Ed when talking about the cannabis plant...more light equals stronger plant.....

I am wetting my seeds tomorrow and my veg will be 24 hour 400w T5 for now. I need heat in my grow room, so rather than use a heater in the dark period I am going with 24 hour lighting. I will switch to 600w MH for first 10 days of flower and then 600w HPS for all but last 2 weeks of flower. Last 2 weeks of flower will be 600w MH with no glass in the hood.

And yes, it is a good read.

what I have learned so far:
                environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

I have always done 24/7 in veg so I cannot compare. Personally I think (although close & good growers say they neen to rest) that the 24/7 builds strength for the incoming artificial sun for a steady and reliable 12 hrs.

Thanks green, will read tonight with proper glasses and computer screen. Mine are 24/7 mostly to keep the heat on but gotta say I'm very happy with the way they've looked and grown. No apparent bad effect. Might need to switch back to 18/6 when summer comes to help keep temps down, will report if any changes.

Light is the key, to little and you get tall leggy plants that will never produce like a tight noded plant. Make it the rule tight nodes or start over till it's right.

I don't think I would take it that far, but you make a good point about the node spacing making a big difference.
