Everclear or food grade alcohol ?

Tried making a tincture using everclear in a magic butter machine.
Results were a very harsh/burning effect when taking the tincture
sublingually. Wondering if using food grade alcohol would make
a smoother, more tolerable solution to take?

The only dif is a splash of water still in the EC, and the cost.

Did you like the effect of the tincture (except for the burn)? If so, sounds like you did everything correctly. Even if you used vodka at 80 proof or 40%, (and not making as good a product) it would probably burn. It needs to be mixed with something to reduce the ethanol concentration. Favorites are glycerin which can be mixed and stored, or a high fat food such as nutella, peanut butter, bacon grease or just put it on a burger etc. Glycerin will give the fastest onset and can usually be taken sl.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Just put it in a glass of fruit juice. Same effect, no burn, problem solved. Everclear is the preferable solvent as it is the strongest and will strip the most THC from the buds.

I've used Everclear with the same results - strong burn. I reduced the batch by heating in a small pan using very low heat on an electric hot plate. The Everclear wicked off. Reduced by 8x. That way one drop was like taking 8 previously. Less Everclear to sting with the same THC level.

The alcohol can be recovered (vacuum) collected and reused (until it takes on to much water) this way you save money in the long run, and no alcohol burn to it at all.

I worked at a soybean oil processor. They used heptane under high pressure and high temps to wash the soybean meal to extract the oil. it was a huge three story globe chamber. No phones or anything over 1.5V allowed to be carried inside.

But all the heptane was recovered and reused. Some waste from water contaminate also.

Everclear has a lot of taxes on it for the name.

When I make vanilla extract with good vodka I add 10% simple sugar to each bottle when it's done. Tastes like organic store brand and takes the edge off.

Has anyone used food grade alcohol to make tinctures. Is there a noticeable difference from using everclear?

I have used the 200 and 190 proof food grade ethanol to make tintcure - pretty much same as Everclear. Cheers
