    Just got my teens!

    Hey!
I just got my plants today!
I was told the guy had clones of a bunch of strains and teens of only gg4, when he gave them to me I just assumed they were all gg4 because they were all fairly big but after I put 3/5 of them in I noticed the Sharpe lables on the black pots with strain names... so I'm only sure the gg4 and tangie are the right strains and I just guessed which were which on the others.. I'm sure I'll figure it out when I get the buds based on the smell - I've have smoked each of these strains accept jack the ripper. I have jack the ripper, gg4, gsc, nyc diesel, and tangie. This is my first grow and I was expecting 4 plants but because this guy was 4 days late he gave me a free plant so now I have 5 plants (strains listed) and I'm in a 3ftx3ft tent, I know this is really small for this but I'm not just gonna let the fifth one die.... do you think I'll be ok? they're all different sizes (wish they were all the same but oh well) I wanted to go straight into flowering but I think I should grow the smaller ones up a bit but then the tall ones are going to get too big and they can't get above 36" because then they'll get light burn - my lights are supposed to be 24" away and the pots are 12" tall so in my 72" tent that leaves 36" for them to grow. Should I go straight into flowering and get a low yield from a few of them or just say fuck it and let them grow and see what happens? the tallest one is about 19"
Thanks again I'm super excited for my first grow! next grow I'll go from seeds!

You could certainly top and train them to stay short and bushy so they don't overgrow the tent. The GWE website has tons of great info on topping and low stress training. And to fit them I'd set them up like the 5 dots on a dice, one dead center and one in each corner (just like you have them!) should be enough room

Awesome! I was getting worried there. I paid 25 a piece so it'd be a shame to top them off, I've read that LST thread about 3 times and I'm just so scared I'll fuck it up, plus it already has tons of stems and is a teen not a seedling like the article suggests. Should I still top them? If you need I can send better pics of close ups on the tall ones, if I top them all off to the same size (biggest ones 19" and shortest ones 10") how much longer do you think it'll take from now to harvest? Like I said they have 36-37" to grow so I would imagine I should flower at 19". Thanks again

The thing to keep in mind with topping and training is you have to try really really hard to FUBAR a weed plant. They always bounce back. I was most afraid to supercrop, sounds and looks scary but 2 or 3 days later they're trying to stand up again! I don't know that I'd cut them all even, if you snip a couple inches off the tall ones it'll slow their growth and the shorter plants can catch up. Maybe just start by topping the tall ones, maybe take 2 or 3 inches off, and give them a week and see where you're at. You can always do some bending later to even them out. Take small steps and be brave!

Why didn't your clone source have them all labelled properly? Not a very professional way to go about supplying growers with clones.
Good luck trying to identify them, my last two unknown Autos from Grass O Matic I still have no idea what they were, read up on all of their strains, looked at as many photos I could find but it's too hard to tell. As long as it gets me high I don't really care about strain name or reputation anyway.

You'll either want to flower now so you don't run out of height and lift the smaller ones up so they're the same height as the rest by putting them on top of some wood, bricks, anything stable really. I used a coco block I hadn't used yet.

    OR

Top and train them all a bit first. Or just top the bigger ones to the same height as the smaller ones and just let them all grow if you're too worried about LST & training on your first grow.

With that Fluro on one side of the tent you might want to rotate your pots around so they all get some of the extra light or the ones next to the light will grow better on one side compared to the rest. spin each pot 90 degrees on the spot each day then on the 4th day rotate the position of the actual pots so each plant gets a turn right next to the light

I know what strains they are I just mixed them up, he said I got all gg4 in the texts but after I potted 3/5 of them I noticed the black sharpie writing on the black pots so I can only be sure of two of them, I just don't know about jack the ripper, girl scout cookies, and NYC diesel but I know Tangie and gg4 are labeled right. Is there a way to keep the tall ones growing taller slower without cutting them?

That's out of my growing experience so I can't help you with that one sorry.

Oh well, I just cut them a but the short one a about 2" so now they're only about 2 inches taller then the shortest one, only thing I'm worried about the sort one that isn't bushy (it's also the youngest) so I think when the tallest one is 19 inches (about a week) they should all be ready to flower, they'll just be a bit short.
