I'm actually making cupcakes this time around. I decided to go by what I had done last time, but this time around use a whole bottle of oil so I don't have to keep spending 4 hours making the oil. Plus two and a half large zip lock bags were taking up a lot of room in my freezer. After drying the leafs, I was surprised to have over two ounces of crushed powder. Last time I only got .4 of an ounce. And add the strong bud in, I was hoping a 48 ounce bottle of cooking oil would be good to use. I don't want them weak, and I don't want them strong where I sleep a day and a half. Not to mention, I'm seriously considering investing in an electric grinder. I use tools on a daily basis and haven't gotten a single blister in years, yet crushing leafs, started tearing my hands apart as if I hadn't done a chore in my life. Reminded me when I was a kid doing sprinkler installs. By end of the day during the summer, I would end up going home with bleeding hands from tightening over 200+ pipe clamps. Then one day, those new crimp versions came out and still, found a way to tear my hands apart. When school started in the fall, well, Ill just skip the comments my friends would make >_<. Oh, I also think I might have been making a mistake tossing the stems out instead of crushing them in the past. I noticed they got goopy when crushed and made me think there might be a bit of THC and CBD I was tossing out.

My cupcakes have to wait till Sunday afternoon. What you see here is a re-do of last nights work. Unfortunately the 4.5 ounces, well, just typing what happened makes me want to cry. The leafs were from my own plants. The bud was about $600 store bought(donated) . My plan was, and still is to make 48 ounces of cannibus oil. If I should use less oil with the 2.8 ounces please let me know now before I lose this batch too. As for last nights batch, I had grinded down what I had planned to use and put it on the kitchen table. As I was about to grab the new bottle of Crisco, one of my kids got hurt. Nothing serious. Just a nose bleed from hosing around. I was only out of the kitchen 45 seconds. Time enough for disaster. While I was taking care of my sons injury, one of my wife's friends just happened to stop by and not used to seeing cannabis, especially grinded up, mistook the bowl for a glass ashtray. She decided to flush the contents thinking it was ash. Soon as she stepped out of the bathroom, she handed it to me saying "your welcome" The silence that fell was a Kodiak moment burned into my head for all eternity. Time to go sob again >_<

Never mind the above. I was victim of an April fools joke. Problem with the joke, is your supposed to let the one the joke was played on know it was a joke on April Fools day, not leave a bloody voice message the day after with the location they hid your stash.

Yes, I would never have believed it until someone on here was talking about it. When you vape you don't burn the weed so what's left over is brown stuff that looks like tobacco. T hats the magic stuff, 1/4 cup to a batch of brownies.

I told my wife when I bought the water pipes not to ever clean them. I showed her why, and she never touches them at all. Is the vape method much better to collect resin?

Had a semi hard decision to make, and decided to go with stripping all the sugar leaf from the tops I just cut off my GSC and THCBomb plants. Adding it to the oil mixture I'm making later. I have a huge feeling when I been cooking in one pot making the oil, that Id be saving a lot of THC by using a double boiler instead and ordered two sets a few minutes ago. I wont have them in time but at least next run I will. I also included the smaller stems and ordered an electric grinder to save the wear and tear on my hands lol.

        Coffee grinder works pretty slick.

CCisme I just bought this from Amazon and wont get it till tomorrow. I already grinded all my leaf and bud. The grinder I bought is this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also talked my wife into letting me hold off till tomorrow when I get the double boilers in which will help immensely in making cannaoil and prevent me from burning off a lot of THC using a single pot like I have been doing in the past. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The picture below is all the bud and sugar leaf grinded up. This was one heck of a grind job doing it all manually. I left the gorilla glue container in the bag so you get an idea of how much I actually made. Gorilla Glue I had to use a sharp shears to mince up because I already destroyed two grinders gumming up the gears with it. The bags total weight is exactly 4.5 ounces and I had set the TARE to take the weight of the bag and plastic container out so 4.5 ounces is the real weight. My plan is to use 48 ounces of Crisco oil in a double boiler and cook it for 6 to 10 hours. If there is a danger of killing the THC or CBD, please let me know now. First time I did this on a single burner, the weed started burning so hoping this change will prevent that and a few people if I remember correctly said the longer you cook this the stronger it gets. I'm allowed to have up to 16 ounces and 99 plants. I only have 7 plants at the moment and the 4.5 ounces you see so no chance of going over the limit. I just hope having 48 ounces of oil doesn't count lol. I'm tired of spending all day making oil for just one baking item, so this time around, will have enough for a few and making cupcakes also. Late Bday present for my wife. Magical cupcakes for us adults, and the kids get normal ones.

I hear you. This was a hard process for me to learn and im far from being solidly consistent, at this point until i can harvest im stuck w street shit which sucks and costs 350 an oz. Sadly im out til the end of the week, this will be refered to as hell week lol I can only smoke occasionally as lupus attacked my lungs, so I started making coconut canna oil last year.
I usually put In coconut oil imho you will get a better thc adhesion to a higher fat content oil like coconut, refined or not depending on allergies or prefrence. Olive oil will work super good to. Plain cooking oil will work but the end product wont be as strong is what I found I usually just put the oil in capsules as I have severe nausea.

As to the hours doing it, I caved and bought the magic butter machine in dec, I decarb it unground in the Nova, ( which is new also hoping I can get better consistency in my oil w a proper decarb but I havent done a full run with it yet) put about an ounce per cup of oil (so 4 to 5 cups is about what your stuff should make i would think, a tsp of sunflower lecthin per cup, then put it in capsules. The mb2 has saved me hours of standing stirring.

Good luck I hope it turns out amazing!

I love that machine it makes tinctures, oils even an rso version. ( havent tried that one) It hardly smells either, huge bonus for me w my kids! Neither does the nova decarb! No coconut for you! I use to be an emt/ff ( technically i still am just had to give it up, hardest thing Ive done) I always carry bendryl an a epi pen and have caught two random strangers thankfully in time because of that, both were first time alergic reactions.
Hahahah my allergies the fucking sun! (I really hate lupus) If im out for more then 30 mins without sunscreen I get hives so bad takes weeks to get rid of em. I was worried some of the stronger grow lights would trigger this reaction thankfully not yet. I loved gardening, hated weeding and sunburns, this is perfect gardening for me lol

The allergy to alcohol has actually caused me more issues than anything else. When my doctor passed away 5 years ago, my insurance hooked me up with another practice. Told my doctor the same thing I said above. Week later get in an accident which resulted in several fractured ribs and the attending doctor leaves me for 5 hours in severe pain. When I finally talk to the nurse, I am told the doctor refuses to give me anything for the pain due to my records. I then grab my backpack in front of the nurse, open my medication which back then was 100mg morphine, and take 2 tablets in front of her. She turns pale and runs out of the room and next thing I know several people come in, one with a machine to pump my stomach, the other two to TRY restraining me. They didn't get too close either. My Taser was in my hand before they even got close. Next security, bunch of other people, then not much later several officers who know me from work. Doctor comes in as well and when the officers ask them what is going on, the doctor tells them I'm an addict, the nurse tells them I just took a fatal dose of morphine after seeking. The officers were actually on my side and tell them they really screwed up and that I sure as hell am no addict. Doctor says my records state I'm an alcoholic. That's when I find out my new doctor was an incompetent idiot. He assumed when I said allergic to alcohol, I was referring to being an alcoholic. Btw, that doctor is no longer my doctor. That out of the way, I now need to explain the two pills I took. Which for me isn't a fatal dose. That's my normal regimen. I actually cut down on my own using high rated CBD, which my doctor I now have approves of. Anyway, the officers ask the doctor and nurse what my medication report states. Guess what? Neither of them ever bothered to pull it in the first place. Now both doctor and nurse are looking extremely stupid. I can barely talk as it is. Try breathing with cracked ribs. Nurse then tries stating I attacked her with my Taser. Officers look at her, then me, then the big goons that were supposed to restrain me so they could pump my stomach. The officer says "If I were in that bed and those ugly brutes came at me, Id be pulling more than a Taser. Fix your screw-up!" And the officers leave. Someone from Admin comes in and everything gets straightened out. Turns out, the moment the doctor saw the alcoholic part of my report, he never bothered reading anything else. Had he read it fully, he would have seen I have cancer, he would have seen I have bone and muscle issues and another area that also shows my medications. HE at least apologizes and puts a note in the system until I see my primary to get his screw-up fixed. I refused the pain meds for the first 6 hours. I had already taken 200mg, which surprisingly worked. Normally new injuries aren't affected due to resistance to my medications. Security asked me to hand my Taser over. I told them to try taking it from me. Administration seeing the hell their hospital caused, just told them to go. There is also a very big note under my allergies section that now says "Allergy to Alcohol - CAUSES RESPITORY DISTRESS, NOT AN ALCOHOLIC" Back in the 70s when I was a kid was when I found out about that allergy. I was sick, and my parents were giving me a cough medication. When I couldn't breathe, everyone thought it was the sickness causing the breathing issue. It was my mom who actually figured it out after several trips to the ER. There was alcohol in the cough medication. When I came home from school. kindergarten, I had a slight cough and my mom wanting to head things off before another trip to the ER, gave me cough medication and within 30 minutes, ended up going to the ER anyway. She realized it was the medication. It was the doctors who discovered it was the alcohol content. Anyway, as for the hospital. The next time I ended up there, there must have been some note in the system because it felt like I was at a 5 star hotel. I was filling in for a caregiver that time and the person I was caring for, decided a fork looked funny jabbed in my shoulder. You know, TV makes it look like objects like that are easy to remove. They sure as hell aren't. I guess I should be happy he chose my shoulder and not more painful spots >_<

CCisme I just looked up the butter machine. Wow, their like $175. The motorized spindle looks like the old mechanism McDonald's once used back in the 60's and 70's to make milk shakes. I actually wouldn't be too surprised if it was. I seen a lot of expensive cheap garbage for years now, but that butter machine looks like the great sturdy equipment from the old times. Not saying it looks old, it looks built with great care like things should be made now a days but aren't. Your magical butter machine is one of the fewest things where "You get what you pay for" actually applies. I just sent back to Amazon, 5 $150 security cameras Friday. I only recently discovered that many of the panoramic ones that look similar, are exactly the same and that the companies that sell them all link their software to the same website. They just put their own logo coverings over them. I bought 5 similar ones off Ebay at $15 each to find out the guts inside were exactly the same except the cheap ones had updated BIOS where the expensive ones were versions behind, and even more shocking, the security programs to prevent hacking were on the $15 models but not the expensive ones too. Plus the pictures I was getting, was 80 feet away. Something you would expect from the $150 version yet was grainy and longer distances more then 15 feet was blurry.

Been using a double boiler this time around. It's been 4 hours so far, and had to replace the water several times but at least the oil mixture hasn't burned like I now realized it had in the past each time. Seems the longer I'm cooking the mix, the more I have to stir it as all the contents cake to the bottom of the pot pretty fast. Also had to add more than 48 ounces of oil. 48 wasn't enough with the crushed cannabis I put in. At first the mixture was almost like a dough so doubled the oil and its now soupy. Think I'll give it another 2 hours then start straining.

The CannaOil was a complete success. It took me 5 hours to get the oil completely strained through the coffee filter to remove the remaining debris. The metal strainer that removed 95% of material was very fast, but the coffee filter dragged for hours and had to keep the oil warm to speed things up. Once cool, it was almost like pancake syrup. I ended up getting back 40 ounces which isn't to bad when I had used a 48 ounce Crisco bottle plus 4 additional cups.
The cupcakes you see here is called Pillsbury FunFetti. I'll be icing these cupcakes with the same type icing which you don't see at the moment because I took the pictures while the cupcakes are still hot and we all know what happens to a cake if you try icing it while hot. If anyone chooses to try this, and are also relying on the THC and CBD, you will need to make a change to the ingredients like I have done. Where it calls for 1 Cup of Water and 1/2 cup of Oil, you need to change it to 1/2 cup of water and 1 cup of oil. As you can see by the pictures, both the mixture looks great, and so have the end results as well with the final product. I may be new to growing cannabis plants, but when it comes to cooking, I know exactly what to modify without hurting the end product. These may not be brownies, but they are just as awesome and a great bday gift to my wife. My kids get normal chocolate ones>_< Could only imagine how potent these would be had I used some of Green75 s bud.

I can definately say this recipe is better than my last 3 attempts. The double boiler made a huge difference. In the past I had just cooked the oil over direct flame which obviously burned up a lot of thc and cbd plus left an undesirable aftertaste. Using the double boiler not only prevented me from burning up the important components and leave out that naty taste it allowed me to cook much longer. I still have almost a full bottle to make other things. One cupcakes effects lasted 16 hours. Been taking notes so furture bersions will be either high cbd to keep one awake and out of pain or high thc for the sleeping hours. I can always dilute the oil with regular if I need weaker versions. My wife is still sleeping lol. The scary part is the price tag. Most of the bud was store bought. All sugar leaf was home grown. The average cost per cupcake is $18.28 for me to make. The only issue I discovered is some of the other mixes call for butter instead of oil and I have yet to make cannabutter. I also neer to find somethimg better to use than coffee filters. Their just to slow in filterimg.Buter alao looks more complicated to make at least the instructions I have seen so far.
