With all the different manufacturers of smart pots, can anyone recommend a brand or, with your experience is there is not much difference between brands?

I've used several brands including the "real" smart pots, I haven't noticed any functional difference between brands. The only other brand I specifically remember are "root pouches," they've worked fine.Sand, sea, sun, sausages, and sinsemilla.

I bought one 3 gallon smart pot no handles and 5- 5 gallon cheaper pots same material to me, the smarts cost more and the cheaper are just as good with handles. I wouldn't reuse them but I bet you could wash them and use for 2 grows at least.
I plan on growing a photo grow with the CC and I'm changing my opinion autos need the 5 gallon and photo's at least 8 gallon maybe 10 would be better, but definitely fabric pots rock!Bubblehead

I reuse my fabric pots, same as my coco/perlite mix. I don't wash them either. Never had any issues.
The way I see it is that my grow is pretty contained and I don't think the pots or coco have any contaminants or anything so why not re-use them. I did put one plant outside recently and I will trash the fabric pot from that one.

Smart pot brand seem to size there pots small when compared to other. I prefer Root Pouch because they seem to drain a little slower. And compare to super cheap fabric pots they won't dry out to quick when there is a fan blowing on them. And they are pretty cheap and can be reused over and over again.

i made my own out of landscape fabric. there were two sizes i made, some 1 gallon and then some 12 gallon. love the way these breathe and you can suck water from the bottom instead of top feeding all the time. but now seeing as the prices are dropping on the smart pots it just makes sense to buy them unless you like to diy things.
