I use FFOF soil from beginning to finish. Good soil, a little pricey, but highly recommended. I also use blackstrap molasses to boost microbes in soil and it supposed to be a source of calcium and magnesium, so like Kingfish, I haven't used Cal-Mag, yet... 😉DIY grow space 2.5' X 3.5' X 6.5'

Start with 1/2 recommended doses and see how plant reacts. With FFOF I don't add nutreients for the first three weeks. Work up to full doses gradually. Too many people think more nutrients are better but it has limits. Watch your plant, she will let you know.DIY grow space 2.5' X 3.5' X 6.5'

Hi Inuart88
Your seedling looks all good to me. I think it's very early in the process for you to have any kind of nutes issue. For the first three weeks or so a seedling will do just fine without any nutes at all, especially in soil.
As to CalMag ... I recall Nebula saying something along the lines of 'cannabis loves CalMag' ... I believe her
I think whether you really need it or not is down to your water. If your water is very hard (soap doesn't lather well) then it's probably got what you need already. Conversely, if you use filtered or RO water then you should definitely be adding CalMag.
Personally, I prime my coir mix with CalMag when I prepare a new batch and then I add 1 tsp per gallon every 3rd feed.

i have been doing 1 tsp with EVERY feeding/watering as i use ro water. even did it that way when i was using a bit of well water or rain water i just cut it back by half then. My well water has a bunch of calcium in it. every year i have to remove the lower heating element of my water heater and get all the calcium buildup out of the bottom before it makes contact and shorts out. thought about saving some of that calcium and trying to dissolve it into some ro water instead of using a store bought bottle. but that is another hobby in itself and there comes a time when too many hobbies is too much.
