Should i topp these at the second node or wait for the third also when i do it do i just use scissors and cut just above the split? they are 12 days old!

Wait until there are six nodes, then cut it above the third node. If You cut the plant too early, it could stress it slowing the growth, or worse. I just use the LST method because I have not had much luck with topping the plants. They, almost always, grew un-symmetrically, one branch grew and the other would be 'stunted', so I do the training and have had good results.Smoke weed,.....grow peace!
