Charcoal briquettes, Cat litter reduce humidity

Any thoughts on using these two products (not together), one or the other, to help keep down humidity and as an added bonus help control the odor.

We are really having a hard time keeping down temps in our tent. We are coming into the final weeks of bloom where temps and humidity are most crucial. We use a dehumidifier to control humidity but it puts out heat and up goes the tent temps. Turn off the dehumidifier and up goes the humidity.

Any thoughts? Anyone ever use one of these products? What would be the downside? I can't see that either would hurt the plants if keep in open containers not touching the plants themselves.

Get on the ole internet and search mini dehumidifier...for about 65$ you will find one that puts off no heat and is small...tiny....it does not have a compressor.

I bought one for my veg. area and dropped RH from 50-40

    Works well for me.

A 10% drop in humidity certainly seems worthwhile. Did you see a rise in temperature with your small dehumidifier?

(kitty litter huh) Don't you worry your cat will mistake your grow area for a litter box?

This unit doesn't say anything about heat output. But suitable for small spaces such as closets. 23W so I can't imagine it puts out too much heats. We have a 30 pint unit as compared to this being a one pint unit. Must put out less heat. Just need to empty frequently, which is no problem

There is no compressor in that one. Next to no heat.
That one has reviews I've read.

Something else to think about. I would think you could drill several small drain holes in the small water collecting container, or 1 single one with air hose tube for drainage. This would give you more capacity emptying less often (*just a thought)

I saw the rock salt method too. Didn't seem like it work as well as the other two mentioned I mentioned.

We are supposed to be getting a break in the heat after tomorrow. I sure hope so. That will help tremendously. High 50s to mid 60s instead of mid 70s to low 80s.

I would love one! But its not gonna happen. We had our share of critters but are now pet free, and hubby likes it that way.
