Help please. Bugs! Beneficial, Bad, or Benign? (photos)

I think I am about 1 week away from my first harvest but am seeing a lot of bugs crawling over the soil. I *think* they are just drinking the moisture since the plant seems healthy but would love it if someone could identify them and let me know if I have a problem.

Fungus gnats. Mostly harmless except when the plants are real young. They thrive in damp soil. Throw down some sticky traps and spray the soil surface with a solution of 20% iso a couple times a day. For prevention cover the surface with diatomaceous earth but it only works when dry.

Looks like a fungus gnat to me. Not particularly harmful to plants in this stage but the larvae with severe infestations can damage roots. A 3% hydrogen peroxide mixture in your soil can kill them off.

Thanks! I actually plan to toss this soil (Miracle Grow) once I am done so next crop will start fresh with a better base. Will likely get some sticky traps, too, since the other plants still have some time to go.
