    Average autoflower yields

I just harvested my first autoflower about a week ago. I was growing Girl Scout cookies auto while vegging a photo white widow plant both under a Spiderfarmer sf4000. My yield from the gsc was just over 6 ounces. This is my first grow so I was wondering if this is a pretty average return or not. How much do you typically get from your autoflower. I almost forgot but I have been growing organically in living soil. Thanks for your time and look forward to hearing your replies.
    Thanks

Welcome sboyle9 you'll like it here, more info than you can hope to absorb! I'm about to start my first autoflower so have been reading a lot! From what I've found, if you got 6 oz from 1 auto you are already doing better than most growers with them. Don't change a thing and start a grow journal on your next one please. I need to read it, lol!

Yeah man for sure I will definitely keep a journal next time. I have 2 photos that I have to flower here first and then I’m gonna make another run with more autos.

        Welcome to GWE!
Nothing wrong with a 6 ounce auto. Pretty good actually. Best I did on one of my autos was just over 7 ounces. 5oz seems to be about average for me.

So many Autos out there, some only get 18" tall while another gets 4 feet or more, one finishes in 60 days another in 130.
I didn't weight mine but I got 6 quarts per plant on my Wet Teddy Bears (12-16 weeks), while a Slow Poke gave up 20 quarts (untrimmed, think hash)(16-20 weeks). The WTBs were over 4 feet tall, the SP was near 8 feet. Lots of variables, one unknown auto from a wild grow only made a joint LOL

If you have a good environment-It’s dependent on your lights!
under cobs or 100w rapidled, I get 3-5 ounces each in 5 gallon pots.
of course good genetics is a key component.
You are doing extremely well, as I consider 16 oz in a 4x2x6 tent, with 3 autos a great grow.
I generally consider 3 oz a plant as a baseline for my setup.

Not growing for quantity - quality is where it's at.
100 grams a plant is all I try for - anything over is a bonus - that is if one weighs - I just go by how many jars I've filled up - each one is about 20 grams.

                I couldn’t agree more-
I just grow for myself (family/friends) so quality is the only focus.

Ive always wondered the conditions when I hear weights quoted. How well manicured was it, etc. I weigh mine so I can judge my grows (I want quality but I think quantity and quality are not always mutually exclusive) and I find the weight differs depending on how I have processed it - when I keep the cola tips together (because who doesn’t like to see a giant looking bud) they have a slightly larger twig inside and are correspondingly heavier than the other bud. Do people include the usable trim when they give a weight? How closely manicured is the bud? It all makes difference.

For me, when I give a weight it is the dried and jarred weight of just quality closely manicured bud. I save all of that frosty trim for edibles but I don’t count it towards the grow weight. I don’t think there is anything wrong with other ways of determining weight but it does make it harder to compare yields. For me personally, I would consider 6 ounces from a single auto on a first grow to be a pretty significant achievement, trimmed the way I trim it. It’s been a while since I last grew autos but I don’t think I was getting that much when I did.

My first auto was 4 inches tall, yielded 3.5 grams. I smoked a whole plant in 24 hours.
