HELP! pH up, pH down......how much?

    Well, shit.

City water has stopped pumping from the aquifer and is importing water. Ladies started looking like they're struggling, lots of yellow, crispy ends, etc.

Got a General Hydroponics kit with the test solution and up/down with a pipette in it.

Here's the water now that it's coming from (probably LA) elsewhere....and did a little slurry to see what the soil was doin. How much of this stuff are you supposed to use? I'm sure there may be 1 or 400 of you that use the pH up/downs....your help would be GREATLY appreciated. Never used the stuff before don't want to nuke everything.

Looks to me like it's above 7 for the water now receiving

And the soil slurry is showing more blue/green (that hadn't fully settled yet, but I'm sure it's over 7)

Someone help me save the precious? Didn't post pics of them because honestly I'm embarrassed. Poor ladies....

Learned a lot this year. pH and whiteflies are issues that need controlling. Maybe an auto over January.....hmmmm...

I do use the GH drops for my tests and they have carried me along well so far. Looks about 7 to me on both.

I've used pH down once when I started using Armor Si. I added 1 ml of pH down and went from 8 to 5. It is baby steps with pH down. pH up takes more from my understanding.

Just a ponder on my part but I wonder how much the vitamin C tabs are affecting your final pH. Some organic growers use it to help control pH so I'm not sure how much that will react with your pH up/down solution.

The top looks like 7 to me, never used that but I have to use 10-parameter strips on the pug's urine - rare disease. If I want to go down 1.0 I use 1 ml of pH down. I was at 7.68, used 1.3 ml, got down to 6.3. HTH.

Always wondered why people kept preaching "check your pH". Never had any problems before.

      OOOOOOh.

I use city water in a res so chlorine can evaporate ,the PH changes as the seasons change (like that makes sense) but my res is 35 gallons and I start small ,depending how far off it is I'll use 5 ml and recheck a little goes a long way so start small until you know how it changes ph in your water

In my water the pH down is stronger than the up by about 2 to 1. Uses much less to get the same water. I have well water that is treated for pH. Comes in at around 5. Then MgCl2 is added to raise it to around 7.5. I don't like to use the treated water for the plants. Too hard. So I use the untreated water and raise it to 6.35. Like Puglover1 said about a ml per gal for 1 pH unit. Also depends on the alkalinity of your water. The higher it is the more you'll need of pH down.

I would also add, pure lemon juice is a natural and more forgiving PH down. I recommend trying it and also trying with the GH PH Down. Get your sea legs so to speak. This is a blessing in disguise, for you. I guess you've just been lucky until now. Anyway, drought water supply notwithstanding, once you get your reading, it's not likely to change much...
A Legend...in his own mind - , 48" X 60" X 80" 2-in-1 Grow Tent, Flower light: Vivaspectra P2500 LED. Veg light: Mars Hydro TS600 & Mars Hydro TS1000 LED lights. Nutrients: GH Flora Trio/Calmag coco/perlite, GH PH Down or pure lemon juice, in case PH down isn't available.

Put 6 gallons pH'ed down to 6 on each. Hoping it'll flush thru and carry down into the sand, unlock some of them foods. Daily flushes might be possible, it's trending to the 90's again this week. Come on ATF you can recover.....sorry yo daddy failed you. 1ml in each gallon, tested all 12 refills to be damn sure. Bright yellow from tester each time. Could have sworn it was the high temps....feel so dumb.
