    Outdoor bud rot prevention?

We're in an extended period of high temps and high humidity, but as the nights cool and flowers thicken, I guess the risk for bud rot increases. I keep the plants defoliated and have them where they'll get a good amount of air circulation, but other than that, what can one do? I've read about bacillus subtillis, but haven't seen any posts on it's use. Any one have experience with this? Any old school tips would be appreciated.

Well not in my case and most other outdoor rec. growers have the $$$$$ to do it like the commercial producers can in temp. an enviormentally controlled huts. So i just do what you do the best i can and i do cover them when fall rains begin during mid to late flowering. I have not used that product you mentioned. It's just do the best i can without spending alot of money on outdoor grow.

Very coincidental you should mention this, Nebula's weekly newsletter, posted today, covers this very problem. At the top of the page, click on the three horizontal lines in the green bar, then go to Free weekly newsletter and scroll down to view past newsletters. It's the first one listed.

I have used "Trifecta Crop Control" which claims to be safe to harvest and organic. Its also pricey, I can say it did not affect the taste or smell of the weed. I'll be trimming the lower parts of the plants so air can get under. If need be I'll put a fan on them in the early hours to dry them faster from the morning dew. After a rain go out and give them a shake so the buds dont hold moisture, cover for rain if you can.
Also watch for Eurasian Hemp borers, they are here in our state, I am fighting them and about all I can do is cut off whats affected and destroy it. I first thought this was bud rot as the tip of the bud would die (would certainly lead to it), I found them by ripping the dead bud open to find an orange worm. This fall burn all trunks, limbs roots that you dont otherwise use. These damn things can winter in them.
This time of year watch for the brown stink bugs (another foreign bug), there is a wasp that kills these but I have not yet found a place to buy them.
Grasshoppers and Katydids, hoppers will cut limbs off, katydids will do the same as stink bugs and strip off the bark killing all above that point.
        And we still grow outside.

I put this carport in to keep me out of the sun while working.I pull the plants with dense buds under it when it rains now. I have a gorilla glue at about 5 weeks and she went in every night last week because of rain or heavy dew. The buds won't rot in high temps and high humidity as long as they don't get wet at all.

Great idea! Love the mobility of such large plants! So is this your solution to the bug problem you had in the past? Do the soil aphids attack your mobile plants? Good job! They look killer
