    Hot temps during flower stage

Hi, we're experiencing some pretty hot temps here in BC Canada. As a result it's impossible for me to keep my indoor tent temp below 78f during my plants flowering stage for the last 6 hours of their daily 12 hours lights on schedule. It's already at 80f with five hours remaining of lights on. Should I just let them deal with the hotter temps? It'll probably hit 86f in there, maybe higher. Or should I dim the lights to cool it down? I've already employed all other techniques to cool it down besides an a/c unit (not possible). Thanks in advance for your help. This hot weather is meant to continue for another 6 days or so. This is not an ongoing or regular problem(but who know's!)

Firstly do you do lights on at night? Second option is yes you dim the lights.

Thanks. Yes I'll definitely review my light schedule next summer with these hotter temps. I'm thinking dimming too as it's just a few days (as opposed to heat damage)

I agree. The heat damage done far outweighs the minimal loss from dimmed lights for 6 days in my humble opinion.

I can tell you that two quarts of frozen water were melted and warm within two hours today. Takes a day to freeze them solid, not long to thaw 'em.
Soil: Coast of Maine Stonington Blend, perlite; Seedlings: CoM org potting soil
    Indoor: 2 x 5.5 x 8' Closet grow
Viparspectra XS2000; EnjoYield 220W full spectrum light added during flower
    Various size fabric grow bags
Cal-Mag & GH Trio if needed; Flower Fuel & molasses during bloom; ReCharge
4 clip fans. Exhaust into attic is vented to the eaves
    Current grow: DEAD FLOWERS

Back in my early days I came up with "days dark, lights night. Very important basic step to reducing summer temps.

Yes what Smokesteve says is one way to offset the heat a little. I'm sure glad i don't have a tent summer grow indoors right now.

Someone beat me to it. Hot it has been here for the last 3 days. 90+. No AC available for plants and they are way to hot. I was thinking of switching light to on at night. Currently in 12 hour bloom cycle on 9am off 9pm. If I wanted to switch to 9pm to 9am, what would be the best way to do it? Gradual or all at once. That would mean another 24 hour dark cycle. I'm not sure it is worth it at this point as the night temps are still not going below 85.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Well Ckbrew it's just a small solution to the big problem doing 9pm to 9am without AC coming thru the vents an door during lights on is slowing down the growth as you know. As much airflow without drying out the enviornment tooo much helps. Nothing easy about trying to ventilate small rooms without external cooling to help. But it's just as bad outdoors right now as in. Our overnite temps swing 30degrees here.

Well things will change soon anyway, winter is coming. Around here, anything after 7/4 is winter...
