Howdy y'all! it's been a while since my last post, grow #14 in the books, got 10 jars of buds and am very happy with the end results. since then, grow #15 was started. As of this week set #1 of 3 plants are now ready for flipping and set # 2 of 3 plants are also ready to flip as well. I have cleaned up the lower 1/3rd of all plants and will switch out my t8's this weekend. I also have 1 that is a week behind but probably will flip it early by 1 week as I don't want to have to move 1 plant because of lighting issues. The 1st pic its the one a week behind in 3 gallon pot, the others are in 5 gallon pots. I forgot to mention I have also done my LST so now it's the task of keeping the canopy even. This is going to be tricky!

No, I do not use a scrog net as it is not really needed. Sativa grows tall, as I have grown this many times before but after LST I can drop my lights to within 3 inches from the tops. This allows the branches that make the buds grow towards the light and bigger buds as in my last grow... at least that is what I did...

***UPDATE*** - 1 week for transition will be tomorrow and I am starting to notice the changes now. All 6 are ladies! I took these trying to show how I topped and did my LST this time around but was kind of hard to do as they are spread out. Looks like a lot but not really until the buds start to build up and develop.

Nice! I've been doing some digging myself after getting a stupidly good female to male ratio on two different grows. It seems ideal conditions both in the previous generation and in veg for your current grow tend to promote lopsided ratios in favor of female plants.Coconut Grove

I have gone as far as looking at the "volcano" tips on the seeds before planting. According to others, this is almost a "guarantee" that the seed is female. I have been about 99% close but did still get a male here and there, also depending on the seed genetics.... Now instead of having just 1 bushy plant, I will get "2" plants out of 1 basically by spreading them out this way and increasing the bud points on the main stems and forcing those to grow bigger.
-
I'm going to have to check out the volcano tip method. I've got thousands of homemade regular seeds of Ghost Train Haze and Skunk #1 for future grows plus Jah willing Tangie and Blueberry seeds in a few months and won't need the services of male plants for some time.

***Looks can be deceiving!*** - So transition period has come and gone and sad to say I ended up with only 3 females! 50/50. The proof came when I started to inspect the bud site after feeding with flowering nutes and I'll be darned if I didn't see what I thought would be girls ended up boys. So there it is that you cannot base your seeds on the "volcano method" either. How dissappointing!!!

Live and learn NuggetMan i've not ever been able to judge a seed maybe there's some gurus that can but most everyone has to do what you did.

So true! But just every now and then I get lucky! But now that I have expanded on this grow from the last one, just growing 3 took up a lot of room!!!
***Correction*** - now down to 2 plants! The 3rd one just exploded with balls this morning...BOO!!!Last edited by NuggetMan; 06-20-2021, 10:32 AM.

Howdy everybody! It's been a while since my last post but today I figured it's close enough for an update. On 7/7 and 7/9 my 2 remaining plants will be 1 month into flower. 1 tall. lanky sativa and the other a short but somewhat bud heavy sativa as well (not like the other plant). I have had to super crop some of the taller branches as this one is really stretching and running out of room.

Hello again! Just to post going into week 7 of flower for the 2 girls. Thank goodness the tall one finally stopped stretching as I almost ran out of light distance from the tops! The other one started a mean lean to the center of the lights as it's starting to get bulky so I gave it some support. I am on my final feeding of Cha Ching this week then after that it's water & molasses only. From the looks of it, 2 Sativas so about another 30 days and they will be ready for harvesting. And it's today that I can notice one of them is starting to change hair color and the other getting very frosty as compared to the other one but has it's share of frostiness as well.
Just my opinion when it comes to flushing: I have done the usual but through my grows I have tried different approaches and have come to find out through my own that I don't really need to flush as much towards the end and using less nutrients at certain times during watering. 1 gallon of pH'ed 6.4 water to 1.5 gallon pot works perfectly as you can tell by the amount of runoff in the catch pan. All my stuff has burned clean with no issues with tastes, smells, or the buzz.

Hi There! *** UPDATE*** So now I am into the start of week 10 into flower this coming Wednesday and Friday for both plants. It's between now and two more weeks before these girls are ready to be picked UNLESS these could end up going longer depending on it's genetics. The tall one is almost 5 ft. tall (as far as my light stand goes highest point) which kind of tells me this one could possibly be an outdoor strain as you can see by the stalky spears as compared to my other plant, which is shorter and buds are more chunky and not so speary. here they are, take a look...

***UPDATE*** Plant 2 - the tall girl, The hairs are just barely starting to show a little color change (less 2%) here and there as compared to my other plant at 10 - 25% changed, this one I think may take longer, even up to another extra 2 weeks (outdoor strain supposidly is up to 14 weeks at end of flower, and I had 1 of these before...)Last edited by NuggetMan; 08-15-2021, 11:37 AM.

Hey NuggetMan . Nice plants. The pictures are great to show people what can happen to leaves towards the end of flowering. It's a wonder, not a worry.
