I'm working on my 1st bubbleponics set up and am having a little trouble choosing a growing media. I'm leaning towards clay pebbles but don't know what size will work best? My net pots are 6 inch. Any suggestions?

Howdy rwdyredhead, I use the clay pebbles that are about 3/8 to 1/2 inch in size, the larger ones do not fit as evenly in the smaller 3 3/4 inch net pots that I am using. I would not think that the larger ones would be any problem in a larger net pot. Are You going to use the rooting plugs or the rockwool cubes? I am using the cubes, but the plugs might be easier to set in the larger sized pebbles. One could used well washed gravel as a growing media, after all, it is only there to provide some support for the plants roots and to keep the plant from falling over (TIMMMBERRR !). I would wash them in a disinfectant and thoroughly rinse them before use.
Good luck with your grow.Smoke weed,.....grow peace!

Thanks DW2. I already have some jiffy pellets so I thought I would try them. I kinda wanted to use rockwool cubes but don't want to have any ph issues with them. I may try them after I get some experience under my belt. I would love to use rapid rooters but don't want to waste a whole bag for just a few seeds. I was wondering if maybe you could vacuum seal the bag of 50 after taking out a few and keep them moist until you needed them again?

rwdy, I have not used the rooter plugs mainly because of them going bad (I guess they start hangin' out with a bad crowd, carryin' knives, then petty larceny....) lol. I would think that it would work, sealing in a vacuum bag, I really do not know even why they would go bad, except if they are moist and would promote bacteria, mold, and fungi to grow on them? If that is the case, then sterilizing them after opening and resealing (light nuke in the microwave?), or maybe freezing them would make them last, I don't know. I have used the rockwool cubes for all five grows and have not had any pH problems that I can attribute to their use. The biggest draw back to using the rockwool is the dust that can come from them due to excessive handling when they are dry. I wear a simple dust mask when using them dry, although, the greatest threat would be if You handled them daily as in manufacturing and packaging them.
Good luck and keep us posted
