    Herbal infuser questions

So I'm quite new here. I want to cook up some butter and maybe some gummies in the future. I'm on the fence as to getting a 'magic butter' type of machine. As you all know they cost a few coins. Is this infuser device just a convenient (just easier to make everything) or is it really necessary? I see ways to decarb & cook it up without the machine. Is it really worth the money???

I don't have one, I do everything without it. Would it be more convenient? Sometimes. Is it absolutely necessary? No, I would say it isn't. I have heard good things and thought about getting one eventually. I have a few other things I want first though, like a rosin press for example. Some people might say it's worth it, I'm sure some owners will be by with their experiences shortly.

I think the MBM is a waste of money but I am often wrong and can be convinced otherwise. The MBM is designed to make soy milk. The "stirring" blade makes a dark green disgusting butter paste.

I know some people are ok with it. I've tried the MBM butter output and it is dreadful. But here's the thing: some people don't mind the taste of chlorophyll. It's a disgusting taste imo, like a swamp. The process of making a concentrate should include steps to rid it of chlorophyll. I don't want to taste grass in a chocolate chip cookie.

I looked at the documentation and their method of decarb will lose terpenes.

ok, there's even more: their documentation of "how to make a tincture or cannabis oil" is not going to work for anyone unless they have a fat wallet. And they don't mind wasting money. The MBM does not *recover* the ethanol used to extract oil. It's vaporized off. For every extraction run you'll have to buy ethanol (and it better be 150 proof or higher).

Another "toy" I want, a Source Turbo or something similar. Saves most of the alcohol when you make oil (RSO). That gets expensive here, even at about $17 for a half gallon of a Colorado brand very similar to Everclear. Good investment if you make a lot of oil for edibles, since they're pretty pricey.

I would rather do that myself and use my money for better lights or to recover etoh. I asked someone who has the MBM about it yesterday, he said he rarely uses it, just taking up space.
