I give my plastics and glass to an elderly gentleman who comes around my neighborhood each week looking for recycling. He was telling me that centers don't recycle the plastic caps, so I've been throwing them in a container trying to figure out a use for them. Today I struck upon this idea of gluing them with a dab of silicone to the bottom of my potting containers. The surface of my grow balcony gets extremely hot in the full sun all day and I thought this might work to keep the temps down in my soil. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Great idea - how heavy is that pot gonna get? Maybe add some more for good measure - one cracks or flattens out then you have a tilting pot - glue more on.
