Which is worse, snow or flash floods? I don't really mind the snow compared to floods or flood warnings. I don't miss those

This is long been going on at our place we watch for it an get prepared. Last really bad flood was in 1998 took out back fences piled debris in the middle of our back yard. Nothing like watching logs going down the river like freight trains 100 yard from your house, the sounds are un nerving. Coast rivers are already over banks.

Looking at the weather channel app it has snow for 10 of the next 14 days.

I think it's supposed to snow every day this week, it has so far. There's a thick layer of tundra from a week or two ago on my driveway but now that it's so cold the snow on top is light, easy. I like to go out in the dark when the street light shines on it, feels like I'm shoveling big piles of cocaine. Then the next morning it's like Ground Hog's Day when I wake up. I have the perfect place: subzero temps, a foot of snow outside my patio door; jars of cured bud and bags of frozen trim. But NO Everclear. Six deer came up from the ravine in the snow the other night, sauntered in front of the house, down the middle of the street. My fenced area has altered their route.

My 5 yr old pug is named Jack'son, the apostrophe is for Jack Nicholson. I feel like I've been living The Shining, for a week or so now. Last night I set a bowl of Lay's Carnitas Street Taco flavored potato chips on the small glass coffee table, the cat walked onto the table, took a sniff and proceeded to graze on the chips. The other pug and I just watched, like 'this is normal, right?' Stay safe, stay sane!

All I am getting here is the cold, and a thin layer of freezing rain. I hate freezing rain, I mean when the dog has a hard time standing do I really want to go out? Hell no!
But look at the up side, the first day gave body shops a real boost, also car dealers are selling cars (new and used) to replace dead ones, auto recyclers getting lots of parts to sell, wrecker services so busy LEOs say the cars can set more than the 24 hours given.
We dont get enuf of this kind of weather for folks to be used to it. The second day was much calmer, not so many folks on the streets (many dont have cars). But it aint over yet, several more days of this cold, and ya I got snow, looks like dandruff on things outside.
I'll also say I would trade 0.1" of freezing rain for a foot of snow! The heat is on as is the power, freezer is full, bring it on!

We get some hellacious winters and some mild ones. It's always a crapshoot. Freezing rain sucks, more because of the other driver usually. My (deceased) brother sold cars for 25 years, he was a jokester. I did dealer trades, picked up cars from auctions, knew a lot about the car industry. The first really cold weather snap was always busy for sales, and my auto body guy used to work at the dealership, he gets swamped. If I had EC190 I'd be busy, and too chill to bitch. I swept snow again today, still not seeing any bare blacktop yet. Trying to leave crinkly icy spots for walking traction. House facing north sucks, for several reasons. But yeah, I got heat, a roof and food, even if none of it appeals to me. I have to go out for health appts and have missed a few because of the heavy, icy snow. Planning on appt and errands tmrw.

I don’t care if this is measured in tardigrades or farkenheits...it’s bloody cold out. Who needs dry ice to make hash when it’s this cold outside for free 😂🥶
There are 3 things you must check everyday when growing in hydro:
          1) Water level (How much h2o is she drinking in 24hrs)
          2) pH level (change over 24hrs)
          3) ppm/EC level (How much food is she eating in 24hrs)

Finally got out for some EC, it's been on ice for 2 hours. I had to get the car jumped first but I made the trip for essential supplies. The temp has dropped and the wind ramped up.Click image for larger version
