    HELP! First time

Newbie here, glad to be apart of the group.
learned some great info on growing, just wanted to share a pic and see what you guys think, i kinda jumped the gun early and it showed. The past 2 weeks my plants have tremendously grown, both plants where done at the same time, im waiting on products to come in so i can transplant them into bigger and better soil with the right nutrients! Let me know what you guys think or any info!

    Using regular potting soil
    2 40 watt cfl for 24/7
Ph has been between 6.5-7.0 according to test strips( water going in and out)
    Temp has been 55-65 degreez
8-10-5 npk ratio at less than half the dose(waiting on better quality nutrients coming in the mail)
plants have been about 2.5 months from seeds
tallest is about 7 inch, smallest about 3.5 inch

Raise the temps to about 70*-80* F, 65 is to cool for veg.

Welcome to the neighborhood, I would start with reading the tutorial on the home GWE page the blue box that says "new growers start here" it will get you to a great starting point. In there it talks about training your plants in my opinion topping is one of the first things to try it will get your plants branches growing so you will get a bush instead of a single Christmas tree looking plant. Unless you are growing autos i would top every plant i grow

I'm not saying you have to do this but that I would, actually I would do alot more but as a new grower this is a good way to do your first one.

I copied your pic and scribbled on it to give you an idea of what I mean. The blueish color lines mark your nodes thats each set of leaves witch is where your branches grow out of these I drew in white this is how they'll come out. The yellow arrow is where I would cut the plants top off literally cut the main stem off. That will allow the branches under that point grow out this gives you 6 branches instead of just the single main. Kinda turning one plant into six.

No by cutting it at the yellow arrow would allow for the lower branches to get going and all the white lines will become the new tops of your plant and there's six I'll find a pic of one of mine or steal one off the internet and post it below to show you what I'm trying to describe. I'll add a link for a gwe article they are better at explaining than I am

Are they autos or photos? They wont be killed at 50* but it will slow them down.
The heat lamp can be an issue with the infrared emitted by it.
I had to start on a very tight budget myself, and with the money I saved buying weed, I bought more supplies.

Here's one I marked the place it was topped you can't see the cut but see how all the lower branches grew up and made it a top or cola. I added a second picture it's trained different (main-lined) but I wanted you to see the actual cut and how you leave a little stem above the first branches this adds a little extra strength see how fat it gets where the branches come out of the stem. Here's the link check it out like I said they explain much better than I do

by Nebula Haze Cutting Cannabis For Better Structure: How to Top Your Plants Topping is a cannabis plant training techniques that involves cutting off the top of a main stem. The technique is designed to give you a free way to create more colas as well as spread out the plant so you can take advantage of all your light. Wow, thats pretty dope! 😂 I never read that one!
In your experience, did you have any symptoms from the plant getting hurt? Just wondering if i should wait til my better products come in or jump on it now! I really want this to hurry up and yield colas, bit at this point im not sure if its male or female. I am hoping to get some seeds out of this as its hard to get where im from and very illegal! I appreciate the info and comments from ya, would like to stay in touch. I plan on making this for personal and medical reasons, way easier than buying, you wouldn’t believe how much it goes for out here

You can always @ me on here from anywhere just put one Tedtheclown in front of my name like that and it notifies me. Or if you click my name it takes you to my profile where you can private message there's more stuff but now my ignorance is showing again 😆

If your plant is happy and growing it won't even slow down at all. Timing is important though, you don't want to cut on em to soon let it get about like your big plant before you do. Your little plant it would be to soon you want to cut it once they have 5 or 6 nodes (sets of leaves) if you wait to long to top it the stem is more like wood and takes longer to heal and easier to split. Topping your plants one time is a beginner level training method. It will allow you to watch what the plants do after you top it and will help keep them shorter and easier for you to learn how and where you need to put your light. Watering is probably the most important part of growing what and when you water is what makes a plant live or die, here's another link for you to check out
Learn everything you need to know about watering your cannabis plants. No more guessing or worrying!

Edit = I want to add that this forum is full of helpful people. This forum is not like the other ones I've checked out where everyone just seems to be bragging (probably lying) and trying to make everyone feel stupid. Very friendly place we do like some good bud porn so you will be seeing some yummy pictures
