I fixed this issue using steel keyrings. They wrap around the beams then get locked together into a ring which helped immensely because I have had to raise the lights higher to prevent some of my plants from getting burned and today it looks like I will have to raise them again as a lot of plants are suddenly growing at a exponential rate and no room to train them and worse I just found out my shed is delayed till end of February so now need to figure out what to do with the overcrowding. Im stuck with a 2x4 tent with 25 plants, 1/4 of them autos. Looking to see if something exits like an expandable tent so I can just add sections to it once I get my shed. Dont want to waste money on another 2x4 that Im most likely only going to use for 30 days or less.

xanthor, sorry for you man. that sucks. one thing i have learned in just the very short time i've been "growing" is how if one thing goes wrong then it has an exponential effect all the way down if you will. like bonza has totally effed up the biggest order i ever placed and consequently i'm going to have to flower in the putrid heat of late spring-early summer here--constant high 90s low hundys. like your shed delay such a bummer.

That us a horrible play on a pun. I actually believed they were selling pot plants in CA Home depot, which would actually be quite hypocritical of them, especially when that is one of the main things they test for before employment and during employment. I had worked for them for almost 10 years. The place doesn't seem so amazing after you lived on the other side of the counter so to speak. Got tossed so many times into gardening, it wasn't till I came here years later that I found out I had given the wrong information for years on what to use to grow pot plants, and no one ever came back to tell me. I was using info on what I knew of regular plants not even knowing that there were PH issues and fertilizers to be wary of.

Someone else just mentioned about the heat and using a water cooler too. I was like, "Oh, shoot, forgot about the heat waves out here" which means an AC or water cooler, or both.

Today I finally get the 1/4 inch and have same issue. Mostly because the clips won't open enough to get around the pole which is a 1/4 inch pole. If I slide them down the pole they fit fine but I cant do this with every pole because there are heavy things on it already. Is there some kind of larger clip or ring or another item that clips on easy enough that I can put on the rails and then just clip on the ratchets?
I just loop the clip over the pole and put the rope threw the clip...very easy. I will show a pic later....

I was actually doing that before, but because it required me to use the rope/ratchet set backwards, every time I had to make adjustments, Id have to untie the whole thing. I got 36 of those steel rings for free, otherwise they normally cost about $5.00 for 36 or $12 for 100 of them. What this steel cables are like, are either cut bike cables or wire hangers with a water proof cover that loop around the small beams then screw together (this is sounding horrible) and lock. I used two of them per ratchet, especially ones holding heavy equipment like the coal-filter/fan combo. Which reminds me, is it necessary to run the filter 24/7 or could I put it on a timer and run it every other hour while I have the other fan circulating inside? Smell isn't a problem, as most of my plants aren't the type that give off that horrible odor that neighbors complain about, and I would definitely like to have it shut off at nights because twice now I woke up to check on the home to find out my kids had been taking turns removing the 100 foot vent from the window and actually dragged it upstairs to their rooms as a fan to cool off yet they have their own Ac's. Heck, even though it goes through the filter, I'm not even sure how safe the exhaust is from the fan. The tent is locked up out their reach, but the exhaust I had to snake through the wall vent to make it to the closest window where the intake is as well. I was even considering moving the exhaust back into the tent or part of it to recycle what it has cleaned as there is another fan that brings in fresh air anyway which is less powerful than the filter/fan.

Lol, being that all my plants are 6 weeks and under, I would say sadly no =( And the fact my autos are showing buds, is a huge tease because, heck, I never grew weed before so no clue when I am going to need to start flushing and all that. I gather it will be close to the time when the top fan leafs start showing crystallization on them? Ask me about tomato's, cucumbers, snap peas and I can tell you exactly what you need and what to do, but learned the hard way that weed is definitely a plant on its own.
