Calcium hungry plant...How to stay ahead of it safely.

One of my favorite auto strain (WW) is very calcium hungry. It’s my 3rd grow of it and anticipated the calcium demand but still got the damn spots. (See pics). I’m DWC with simple 3 part nutes and adding MagNifiCal (like CalMag). The additive says to start at 5ml/gal in the first week of veg then increase by 1ml/gal for the next 5 weeks. This grow I decided to step up the calcium additive to get on top of things. I didn’t have much success.

How much additive can be added before its too much? Is it possible to have too much?
What have you folks done to keep ahead of calcium deficiency?

(its the plant on the right in the pic)

    Cheers

There are 3 things you must check everyday when growing in hydro:
    1) Water level (How much h2o is she drinking in 24hrs)
    2) pH level (change over 24hrs)
    3) ppm/EC level (How much food is she eating in 24hrs)

I dont do DWC, but is the PH in range?

I adjust my pH to approx 5.7-5.9 when I feed. My water here will always bounce back to 6.3+ over the first day, so I readjust it to under 5.9 and let it creep up to 6.4 before doing another adjustment (which might be 3 or 4 days).
I know calcium uptake is best at around 6.2+ but I’ve read that nitrogen uptake slows at that pH. So the challenge I’m facing is the balance between the two.

Hey YY. My last two grows have been WW, but I've had a similar issue during my last four or five grows. I'm not saying gou differently have the same problem but I discovered this grow that I may have been causing calcium toxicity with too much calcium. I use tap water and ca/mg supplement and have had the same looking issue you show in your photos. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was going on until I stopped using ca/mg supplement about 3 or 4 weeks into this grow and everything looks great. Just something to consider, like you don't have enough already! 🤣
