    My new toy!

Yesterday I had the thought that I was driving down the highway 200 mph blindfolded. I had nothing to test PH with since the unit I had stopped working (when I cleaned it). So I went to my local supplier and brought this back home! Now to learn how to use it, LOL, first test on the soil, 4.0 crap I new it was off a bit but that far out damn! All tested between 4.0 and 4.8, I feed the little girls potash in water to start bringing the PH up. My tap water tested at 7.8 and bottled drinking water is all over the place from 7.3 to 8.8, I did not expect that! I left $308 on the counter.
    Any thoughts on this unit.
The 7.0 and 4.0 fluids for calibration, can they be reused or should they be tossed after calibration?
I am sure I will have more questions after I use it a while, I like that the unit does soils and liquids, now I will be able to see how low/acidic the banana tea is!

I use Blue Lab to control PH in my reservoir. It is very accurate and I trust the readings more than my Hannah Instruments PH pen. I just bought another controller so now I have two. Great products...hope your experience is as good as mine.

Me too! It has to be better than that last thing I had.

When I listened to a podcast with a rep from Blue Lab, he said that those packets are designed to be single-use.
The primary killer of ph probes is improper storage.
Always keep the probe in a storage solution and also use a cleaning agent periodically.
If you follow those 2 steps, practically any ph pen will last longer and remain accurate.

I had the thought they should be tossed after using, but nothing inside said so. I like the cap as it contains the fluid to store the probe in, and I am keeping it there when not in use. I'll pick up these fluids to keep this toy working correctly! Thanx!

When my meter stopped working one late afternoon I was panicky, not a good feeling. I remembered I had my dog's 10-parameter urine test strips, I have to watch his pH & specific gravity. I remember someone saying that the calibration solutions could be reused, guess I can get over being upset that my nephew dumped mine down the drain. Enjoy your new toy!

And my used fluid will be right behind yours!

After using it and finding for sure what the PH is, and starting the correction, within hours they are looking better. No more guessing games, I can now drive 200 mph down the highway!
