    Calcium toxicity?

After taking from GWE all these years, I want to try to give a little something back. My last four or five grows, different strains, have all developed the same issue. Brown/bronze spots on leaves that get progressively worst. I have pulled my hair out searching for the cause but think I may have stumbled across the reason. I grow in coco and have been using nebula Haze feeding schedule and kept getting what looked like leaf Sephora, phosphorus or calcium deficiency. I use tap water (after sitting out a few days) and it struck me that calcium in tap water doesn't appear to be taken into account. Tap water "hardness" varies greatly from region to region, so along with my GH nutrients (which has some ca/mg), I have been adding 1 tsp of ca/ma per gallon of water and get what appears to be a calcium deficiency. I stopped adding ca/mg supplement a couple of weeks ago and everything looks great. This is by no means a scientific answer but I have seen others with similar issues. Perhaps Sirius Fireside or nebula Haze can add more enlightenment!

Well done at looking for culprit. I also have high cal in my well water, i use to have the same issue when i used a suppliment food with calcium. Now i don't use any or it has very little. Issue also went away.

That's good the hear SoOrbudgal! I finally saw some photos of ca toxicity and it looks similar to ca deficiency and I knew that wasn't the issue!

Good catch. I try not to panic and do something weird until I know for sure what's ailing the girls. I had my own mystery spotting problem this fall. I forgot that I'd aimed my fan low to discourage thrips and the spots were windburn and not a toxicity or deficiency.

Thanks UndergroundFarmer. It was driving me crazy and taking the fun out of growing. Ca toxicity and deficiency look similar, kinda like over/under watering.

What I meant was over/under watering symptoms can look similar to each other, not like ca toxicity...
