    Bud worms, wait!

Most of us deal with them, all of us hate them, but. If one looks around at high end candies you find things like chocolate covered grass hoppers, ants, caterpillars, but isn't a bud worm a caterpillar? Then shouldn't we be toasting them (decarb), covering them in fine chocolate and enjoying them, instead of smashing, spraying etc.? And since they have been munching on the best parts of the plant shouldn't they be loaded with the oils? Just how high can one get eating chocolate covered bud worms? Are we missing out here?

Couple years ago I thought someone on here was saving them for saute. Can't remember what came of it. Could be good. I haven't seen any for a while or I would try it. I hope I don't get the chance.

Now we're cooking, toss em right in that stir fry! Add em to your cake/cookies, a bit of crunch in the milkshake,

I think You’ve found a niche market for your giant tree pests !
Have you ever eaten ( knowingly) any insects??
Spending most of my life in Vancouver, I have a lot of immigrant friends and have eaten some pretty weird stuff. Spicy Stir fried grubs, chocolate covered ants, and a cake made with cricket flour....
        😂 That’s right cricket flour..... it’s a thing 😂

Rwise- Started my career with 21years in poultry/beef slaughter....😂 First job was hanging live chickens on the kill line.
In my 20’s we used to play this game at parties, where we would take bets on which girls I could get to throw up first with my multitude of disgusting stories...
          Ahhhh.. good times😂😂
You must have been in one of these fine facilities as well, since you’re asking?

lalaland I was raised on a farm, we went to the slaughter house with cows and hogs, there was one 1/2 mile from here, not anymore. I have to laugh when adds say "never frozen" and "fresh" as beef is hung and aged in a freezer.

Total Gross Out Dude! It's not the WORMS that's the problem, it's the Worm Shite that wrecks our buds. N'est Pas?
My goal is epicurean quality rather than high yield.
I'm learning how to create cannabis tinctures and hashish and I almost always use a vaporizer to spare my aging lungs.
Despite my avatar name I'm generally amenable and helpful. So, if there's a question I'm qualified to answer, hit me up!

grouchyoldman I have to bring up an old article from High Times where in a certain desert country they feed the weed to camels and smoke the shit! So maybe we should gather the bud worm poo and smoke it!

If they fit in the wok they can be eaten, or so my Asian friend says anyway :-)

Been to a fair lately? They sell bugs to eat here,

I gag every time they open the mystery baskets and find bugs (or innards) on Chopped. "Oh. My. God. How did anyone even think putting that in their mouth...? All the things they could have eaten and they chose...that?""

The most disgusting thing I ever tried to eat was pig brains and scrambled eggs. Mom would not tell us what it was, I took a bite and ran out the door puking! Mom said that was an honest opinion!

I think the closest thing I could compare it to would be slightly overcooked calamari
